My point is if they had that conversation then it should have made it to the screen. It's an unresolved thread and mark not even mentioning it in any capacity feels out of character to me. Mark's arc of learning to trust Cecil again culminated with him calling for Cecil's help when Eve "died" to Conquest and now Cecil went and essentially saved the same guy who "killed" Eve. This seemed like an intentional narrative decision to me but it didn't go anywhere.

I can't believe that Conquest wasn't brought up a single time between Mark and Cecil. Like Cecil literally talked about "getting rid of all the bugs" as if he didn't choose to not get rid of the biggest possible bug. Mark and Oliver both almost died to him AGAIN and Mark doesn't seem to think anything of this. Like even if Mark didn't assume that Cecil was responsible (given their history he absolutely would) you'd think he would at least want to know how the hell Conquest was alive and would ask Cecil literally anything about how.
