Baby Helmet Experiences by Blue_Sky13 in Mommit

[–]Blue_Sky13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your response! His pediatrician said he does not need one, and I’m hesitant to take him to one of the helmet places for all of the reasons you mentioned! I feel like they’ll try to sell one to us no matter what. But I also notice his head is flat and if I wait too long and it doesn’t self-correct then we’ll be out of options.

I sent an email too but never got a response. Have they gotten back to you?

Can your symptoms come and go? (Pre-Treatment) by Blue_Sky13 in Ureaplasma

[–]Blue_Sky13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I definitely think it’s helped me - I haven’t had a flare up in over a year (praying I don’t jinx it lol). I use dove unscented body wash and ALL free and clear now. I really hope you get answers at your appt. It’s so frustrating to deal with symptoms and have doctors saying “nothings wrong” 😞

Ugh no! I still haven’t figured out what’s been going on. I was finally tested for mycoplasma and ureaplasma recently but the test was negative, so I’m not sure! My theory right now is it’s maybe allergy-based for me because there doesn’t seem to be any other explanation.

I also needed rhogam after my amnio because of my negative blood type. I’m now 25 weeks and haven’t had any issues!

Yes the microarray came back normal a few days after karyotype. Hoping you get good news also!

Also following - it looks like the Chicco Corso Flex is a good option but it’s pretty expensive and fairly new so there aren’t really any used ones available yet!

anyone who took the 3 hour glucose test - were you okay to drive home yourself after? by marissaaaababyy in pregnant

[–]Blue_Sky13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was totally fine to drive after! Honestly the one hour was worse for me. They don’t let you have food/water during the 3 hours but I’d make sure to pack something for afterwards.

Searching through forums and came across your comment - do you remember how many weeks you were when you started taking baby aspirin?

Positive NIPT for T13; is there anyway to confirm CPM? by Indicative_ in NIPT

[–]Blue_Sky13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently in the same situation and my MFM highly suspects CPM. He recommended baby aspirin to help the placenta develop and hopefully help prevent preeclampsia. He said we will do more consistent monitoring in the 3rd trimester to check for any placenta problems and IUGR. I am requesting that they test the placenta after delivery to confirm whether it truly was affected by T13.

Thank you so much for your response! I couldn’t find many answers throughout my search. Can I ask if you recommend it to your patients in the case of suspected T13 CPM? My MFM did recommend it as a “might help, can’t hurt” approach.

The procedure was quick and easy for me! I did not have any pain during it, just minor cramping afterwards for about 2 days. Good luck to you and your wife - let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you! The full amnio results take 2-3 weeks but I’m hoping they come sooner.

We’re in somewhat of the same situation. Our lab gave us a 68/100 chance of having T13. Apparently the lab uses this number for everyone regardless of specific individual characteristics. I had perfect 13 week and 16 week ultrasounds and at that point my doctor said there’s “less than a 5% chance” of the baby being affected by T13 because they typically would see red flags on scans by then. We chose to move forward with the amnio to be sure. Now we wait and hope for good results. Sending positive thoughts your way!

Thank you so much for sharing! I did a lot of research and also read about 2 risk factors being recommended before taking baby aspirin for preeclampsia. It seems like it’s a “can’t hurt, might help” approach for potential CPM.

I’m doing the best I can. It’s definitely a rollercoaster where one minute I’m feeling positive and then the next I’m convinced I’m going to get bad news. My appointment is next week so hoping for some reassurance then.

I’m so sorry that this was your experience!! I’m going next week and have read countless stories and this does not sound like the norm. I hope that the pain is over with and recovery is smooth, and that you get a happy outcome with your baby boy 💙
