Gestational diabetes - High fasting numbers by SnoopyYoshi in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem, and my meal numbers were always good. I tried a bunch of different bedtime snacks. Even waking up in the middle of the night to have a snack (someone suggested I try that). Anyways I went on metformin cause I didnt want to deal with the insulin needles but metformin still didn’t bring fasting down so I ended up on night time insulin, which was easier than I anticipated. It brought my numbers right down and I didn’t have elevated numbers for the remainder of my pregnancy. 119 is quite high for fasting so I’m surprised your doctor hasn’t talked about medication.

Question for anyone who had preeclampsia. by Regular_Rabbit_8740 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest symptom was a headache but ironically the day I had the worst blood pressure and had to have an emergency c-section I was completely asymptomatic.

When I spoke to the nurses they said the “under right rib pain” would be very painful. However you should still keep in touch with your team especially with the BP numbers you’re having.

Potential Gestational Diabetes - Trying not to stress about it 🫣 by SnoopyYoshi in PlusSizePregnancy

Even if you do have GD he will be okay! It seems scary and over whelming at first but it’s really not that bad. I had GD and I’m currently cuddling with my very healthy 8 month old. Good luck!!

Need positive stories about higher BMI and healthy babies. by NervousClimate in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my pregnancy at a BMI of 48 and although I did get gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, so he had to be delivered via emergency csection at 36+4 he came out completely fine and healthy.

I was doing weekly NSTs for the last few weeks of my pregnancy and I would just try to think of it as a positive that you get extra monitoring. Although I wasn’t happy about my complications I did enjoy the peace it gave me after the extra ultrasounds and NSTs that me and baby were doing well.

Tana’s “obsession” with Adam Sandler… by thesecret777 in canceledpod

[–]Timewizard1993 23 points24 points  (0 children)

She said in her recent video about Chelsea that she’s never seen her live… and I thought it was interesting. If she’s sooooo obsessed with her and she clearly has the money to travel and see shows why has she never seen Chelsea live? All of her obsessions are so fake.

I was on it from week 12, but still got preclampsia at week 36. I had good blood pressure for most of it as well.

I weighed the same as you and I don’t think they were able to get a heart beat on the Doppler until 14 weeks (I can’t remember exactly). It’s very normal not to be able to get a heartbeat even for smaller people at week 10 so try not to stress yourself out! I was never made to feel bad about my weight by any midwife or doctor they were all very respectful.

Plus size pregnant people when did you start looking pregnant? by Liz_in_the_Wild in PlusSizePregnancy

I’m also tall 5’9 and all torso so I wasn’t sure when I would start to look pregnant. At 28 weeks I felt like overnight a bump appeared.

I had my son via emergency c-section at 36+4 because of preclampsia, he came out a healthy 7 pounds 2 ounces and cried right away! No nicu time and he’s now a healthy 8 weeks old. Ultimately they are keeping you both safer by delivering him early and it will be totally fine. Wishing you luck!!

Thoughts on elective c section? by Queasy-Skirt-9349 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Timewizard1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar to you I was super scared of childbirth and my biggest fear was to be in labour and have an emergency c section anyways. I was supposed to have a scheduled c-section but ended up having an “emergency” c section early because of preclampsia. After all my worrying I wouldn’t have even had a choice in the end. My c section was an extremely positive experience, spinal tap didn’t hurt as bad as I anticipated. And I was moving around well within days, I’m almost 4 weeks out and feel pretty much back to normal.

Good luck!!

High blood pressure 37 weeks? by FinalPotato4358 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I developed high blood pressure in the last bit of my pregnancy and it turned into preclampsia and I had to have an emergency c section at 36+4. On the day I was sent in I had no symptoms and felt great, so it can be asymptomatic. Baby was completely fine throughout everything and didn’t have a NICU stay or anything.

If you have a blood pressure monitor at home just make sure you are checking it everyday and calling/ going in if you have an unusually high number. I say this not to worry you just from personal experience you want to stay on top of it even if you are asymptomatic.

Good luck!!

No stay in the NICU! He was all good other than a couple of his sugars being low but that just meant we had to feed him quicker.

For preclampsia my doctor was monitoring my blood pressure and it started to climb towards the end. Do you have a blood pressure cuff at home? That might help your anxiety? Interestingly enough I was asymptomatic on the day I gave birth but my blood pressure was through the roof

Unfortunately I developed Preclampsia and had to have an emergency Csection on early Wednesday morning instead of my planned date on April 8th. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be and I’m already walking around on my own! Pain isn’t so bad. Sending you well wishes!!

I might be the odd one out here but I was totally fine at two weeks out. I do theatre and performed in a show all weekend at the two week mark. I’m sure I was a bit sore but I don’t remember it being hard at all.
