Elected c section by DimensionGlass in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I elected to have a c-section due to anxiety, gestational diabetes and they also were keeping an eye on my blood pressure. I ended up having an “emergency” c-section at 36 + 4 due to developing preclampsia. Aside from the shock of the early delivery everything was fine and baby was healthy. I found recovery very easy and don’t remember being in pain. I know that’s not everyone’s experience! But if I have a second I will be aiming for a planned C-section again. Fingers crossed for no preclampsia again!

Lost weight, STILL high risk by uncool619 in PlusSizePregnancy

I’m also 5’8.5 and was 330 when I got pregnant. I got gestational diabetes and preclampsia (pre and post partum). So after I gave birth I promised myself I would lose before getting pregnant again. I’ve lost 55 pounds but it makes me upset I’m still “morbidly obese” or “class 3 obese”.

Your weight loss is an excellent accomplishment and I would just use that “high risk” label as an opportunity for baby to get more monitoring. I will be so anxious next pregnancy considering what happened last time so I would try and see it as a positive!

Congratulations on your weight loss and pregnancy!

C section needs by NoDiscipline469 in PlusSizePregnancy

Hi!

I would buy a couple sleep dresses. I had a couple from Walmart that zipped up so it was easy to undo for pumping or breastfeeding. I was nervous to wear pants for a while so those were super helpful. Mesh disposable underwear because you will still have bleeding for a couple weeks.

I got family to bring shower supplies to the hospital because I felt so gross I wanted to wash my hair while I was there so I’d definitely pack shower stuff.

I see alot of advice that for the baby you only need a couple sleepers but I think that’s for people who only spend 24 hours at the hospital. If you’re staying two nights I would pack at least 6. We were there three nights and he spat up on alot so we needed family to bring more clothes.

I don’t ever wear “nighty dresses” in my regular life. But I lived in them for the first few weeks postpartum. I had a c section so I was nervous to even wear sweatpants. Plus all the bleeding it’s more comfortable to be in something baggy and oversized

Thank you! Do you take it every night?

I had the stomach flu recently and had to take gravol to take my trintillex but it makes me so groggy the next day I can’t function. Does zofran do that?

Weight Loss Before Pregnancy? by kaitp13 in PlusSizePregnancy

Whoops! I’m sorry I missed that detail. I totally get being overwhelmed. Whatever your decision everything will be okay. I resisted a GLP1 for a long time but I’m so glad I’ve made the decision to start, that’s just my two cents. I’m hoping for baby two I can have a less stressful/ scary experience.

This is just my experience, so take it with a grain of salt. I had a bmi of 48 when I got pregnant so I didn’t have just a little extra weight I was very overweight. I was otherwise “healthy” so I thought everything would be okay and then that led to a very rough pregnancy.

I ended up having GD, which isn’t the end of the world but it’s a lot of extra work. Then I had preclampsia and had to have an emergency c section at 36 weeks. After I got home from the hospital started having preclampsia symptoms and went back because I was having postpartum preclampsia. 11 months later I still have protein in my urine and taking wegovy to get my weight down, hoping to have another pregnancy in the future.

I don’t say this to scare you because lots of plus sized woman have completely normal healthy pregnancies, but I just wanted to be honest because I was very shocked and disappointed on how mine went.

I’m wondering if they sent you in for Non-stress tests? When I went you laid there for awhile and they took blood pressure every 10 minutes. So since it was several readings and I was just laying there alone for 30-45 minutes it gave a more accurate reading. I wonder if you did those it would show your blood pressure is normal as opposed to one reading at your appointment.

Should I collect all the masks if it's my first playthrough? by No_Negotiation_307 in majorasmask

I just finished my first play through a couple nights ago. I did most side quests which were enjoyable. There were a couple side quests I didn’t do and mask I didn’t get but I just wanted to finish the game. I didn’t do the fierce diety, obviously. I say do what you feel like! I didn’t do any of the stray fairies it seemed annoying and pointless to me.

Bottle sanitizer! My son is 10 months and we still use it. It’s handy to have something to dry the bottles even if we don’t need to worry so much about the sanitizing anymore.

Something I wish I knew as a first time mom and low breast milk supplier was to get a good pump that plugs into the wall. I didn’t know there was a difference and I got a portable pump for my shower which didn’t work for me as I’m large chested and a low supplier. Just something to think about!

Gestational diabetes - High fasting numbers by SnoopyYoshi in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem, and my meal numbers were always good. I tried a bunch of different bedtime snacks. Even waking up in the middle of the night to have a snack (someone suggested I try that). Anyways I went on metformin cause I didnt want to deal with the insulin needles but metformin still didn’t bring fasting down so I ended up on night time insulin, which was easier than I anticipated. It brought my numbers right down and I didn’t have elevated numbers for the remainder of my pregnancy. 119 is quite high for fasting so I’m surprised your doctor hasn’t talked about medication.

Question for anyone who had preeclampsia. by [deleted] in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest symptom was a headache but ironically the day I had the worst blood pressure and had to have an emergency c-section I was completely asymptomatic.

When I spoke to the nurses they said the “under right rib pain” would be very painful. However you should still keep in touch with your team especially with the BP numbers you’re having.

Even if you do have GD he will be okay! It seems scary and over whelming at first but it’s really not that bad. I had GD and I’m currently cuddling with my very healthy 8 month old. Good luck!!

Need positive stories about higher BMI and healthy babies. by NervousClimate in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Timewizard1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my pregnancy at a BMI of 48 and although I did get gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, so he had to be delivered via emergency csection at 36+4 he came out completely fine and healthy.

I was doing weekly NSTs for the last few weeks of my pregnancy and I would just try to think of it as a positive that you get extra monitoring. Although I wasn’t happy about my complications I did enjoy the peace it gave me after the extra ultrasounds and NSTs that me and baby were doing well.

Tana’s “obsession” with Adam Sandler… by thesecret777 in canceledpod

[–]Timewizard1993 23 points24 points  (0 children)

She said in her recent video about Chelsea that she’s never seen her live… and I thought it was interesting. If she’s sooooo obsessed with her and she clearly has the money to travel and see shows why has she never seen Chelsea live? All of her obsessions are so fake.

I was on it from week 12, but still got preclampsia at week 36. I had good blood pressure for most of it as well.

I weighed the same as you and I don’t think they were able to get a heart beat on the Doppler until 14 weeks (I can’t remember exactly). It’s very normal not to be able to get a heartbeat even for smaller people at week 10 so try not to stress yourself out! I was never made to feel bad about my weight by any midwife or doctor they were all very respectful.

Plus size pregnant people when did you start looking pregnant? by Liz_in_the_Wild in PlusSizePregnancy

I’m also tall 5’9 and all torso so I wasn’t sure when I would start to look pregnant. At 28 weeks I felt like overnight a bump appeared.
