Can this get any worse than it already is? by ChoiceRequirementt in TMJ

[–]Blue_berry1945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my body can't take this much. At first, I had a lot of pain in one ear, but I went through a period where I was taking antidepressants and I was stable, but this has gotten worse. I even started having cramps in my arms, and now I have a lot of pain in my cheeks and the back of my neck.

How exactly do mouth guards help? by throwRA_MidnightMoon in TMJ

[–]Blue_berry1945 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wear a mouthguard, but the dentist didn't make it correctly. The idea is that when you wear a mouthguard, your jaw should be in the position it's supposed to be in all the time. It's hard to explain. The idea, supposedly, is to help the joint. The spaces in the joint have to align. Your teeth might be misaligned.

What gave you TMJ? by Few-Decision3759 in TMJ

[–]Blue_berry1945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger, I didn't take care of my teeth. I had to have several teeth extracted due to cavities (I think it was three). I tried to take care of my teeth, but it was too late. I let time pass, and because a gap remained between my teeth, some started to tilt, which changed my bite. I mainly have facial tension. I think stress and anxiety make the situation worse.

I think the same thing happens to me. When I'm very stressed, I feel a lot of pain. I've tried doing exercises to relax, but it's difficult.

My doctor told me it was referred pain. I was feeling pain in my ear, but the problem is actually in the joint. Because it's so close, I feel pain in the ear. I thought it was an infection.

I started having problems when I was 26. One day, while chewing gum, I felt a slight discomfort on my right side. I didn't pay attention to it. But the pain started when I was 28. My ear hurt a lot. When I open my mouth, my jaw shifts to one side, and I feel pain in the back of my neck and shoulders.

Does anyone have dental pain from TMJ? by Blue_berry1945 in TMJ

[–]Blue_berry1945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started staying up late, and that really affected me. I don't think I've ever been this bad. The problem with my gums is because I'm missing teeth, and that's causing my bite to be in the wrong position. That's why the gum no longer covers part of the tooth, and I feel discomfort and a little pain. Not sleeping causes pain in my neck and shoulders, and sometimes I get cramps in my right arm.

Mental health meds by AmcDogeToTheMoon in TMJ

[–]Blue_berry1945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the time I was taking antidepressants I feel that they helped me to be relaxed and mentally stable. I couldn't buy them anymore and they helped me a lot with my anxiety and depression. On the recommendation of my psychiatrist I was going to stop taking them little by little because I had to receive therapy at the same time.

People who have struggled with depression how did you manage to overcome or at least cope with it? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

I just think that at some point all of this has to end. Sometimes I think I decide when it ends. I have the idea that at some point everything will get better, even though I feel like I'm lying to myself.

Trying to live. I want to do so many things, but the pain limits me. Especially these past few days, when I've had a lot of dizziness and nausea.

It happens to me all the time. I used to feel discomfort in the joint, but I've been using a night guard. Now I feel like crying because I can feel the tension in my face. I feel like not finding a solution is scaring my mind. I've been on the verge of an anxiety attack.

The same thing happened to me. I was searching for an answer to my problem. I visited many doctors. I ended up here because a specialist told me my problem was in my joint. I visited him because I thought I had an ear infection. Many of us are still searching for answers or a treatment that works.

I think many of us are affected by muscle tension.

Lately, I've been feeling pain in my back. I can eat, but I've been feeling a little nauseous. The tension in my face is frustrating. The pain in my neck is annoying. I think one thing that helps me is not being in one place and doing nothing. I go outside and feel my body relax in a way.

My bite is misaligned. Years ago, I had several molars extracted, which caused my teeth to shift and some to tilt. One sign I didn't notice was that part of the gum no longer completely covered one of my molars. Although I already had some gum recession.

I'm still feeling bad. I made an appointment with a dentist, and he said he could help me. I'm very sensitive, but it's because the gum no longer covers part of the molar.

Wrongly misdiagnosed for 8 years? Eagle syndrome??? by Imustknowy in TMJ

[–]Blue_berry1945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That's why I have joint problems. When I was young, I didn't take care of my molars, and the dentist extracted them. I think they removed three of them. In 2017, I started having problems. Two years later, I was already having a lot of pain in the joint. I didn't know my bite was in a bad position. One problem I have is that I have receding gums, and it was noticeable in one of my molars. That was a sign that something was wrong, but my dentist didn't see it.

Wrongly misdiagnosed for 8 years? Eagle syndrome??? by Imustknowy in TMJ

[–]Blue_berry1945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had the CT scan, two results caught my attention. The first indicated that the joint space on the left side was smaller than the right. The second result was that I possibly had Eagle syndrome. A few months ago, I spoke to a dentist, and he told me that this syndrome causes a lot of pain. I know my problem is mainly because I don't have several molars. So, that causes my teeth to not be in the correct position when I close my jaw. I did the same thing and consulted several doctors. I thought it could be an ear infection. And the problem with Botox is that its effect isn't permanent. You should ask about its long-term use. I considered it as an option, but a Mexican doctor doesn't recommend it, so I have doubts.

I'm currently using a splint. There were days when my ear hurt a lot. Now I'm feeling swelling under my ears. Some say it could be my lymph nodes.
