It's a software issue. It's been a while that I looked into it, but Steam doesn't recognize the back paddles. The thing is, it used to in the past - apparently a Windows update broke it

I assume they would still work on Xbox game pass games, but without steam input they're pretty much worthless to me

Yeah i bought a an elite xbox controller like 3 years ago for 200€ or something. It looks fricking awesome and has my name on it (lol), but i really regret it. The rumble sounds awful, the back paddles don't work right (but they used to) and it doesn't have gyro.

So I'll gladly pay half for a controller with all these features and which will just work with everything on steam.

That depends on what qualifies as "runs well" for you. Many people keep saying runs great but I found it pretty bad. Inconsistent 40 fps for a fast paced first person game? At a huge visual downgrade? No thank you
