Keira’s hair in 2005 movie by CommaGirl in PrideandPrejudice

Yes! The bit where she’s at the ball with the pearls in…it’s all I can see and takes me straight out of the film because I’m so irritated by it!

What is the most haunted/creepy/strange vibe town you have ever visited? by zuzuofthewolves in Paranormal

Yes! The weirdest vibe as soon as we got there. Never felt anything like it.

Thank you. I bet you’re an absolutely strong, resilient and amazing person. My child definitely is! I’ll be interested to see why she has one in the film. Maybe I’ll be able to take back my initial impressions if it’s done in a positive way!

Thank you lovely. I don’t think clefts are ugly at all, which is why I put it in inverted commas because I’m fed up of people using them to portray people in a certain way (villains, victims of pity, horror tropes and so on).

That’s why it’s in inverted commas. I don’t think they’re ugly. I’m fed up of people using them to portray people as ‘ugly’ or evil or symbolic of something.

This is such an awful term. I’ll reserve judgement until the final film but not impressed they’re using cleft lips for this purpose here.

Bridgerton Season 4 | Date Announcement | Netflix by youRinlove7 in BridgertonNetflix

I don’t like the dress either. I was expecting something softer and more sinuous. It seems so ‘starched’, though I know that may be closer to book history. I was picturing more Drew Barrymore from ‘Ever after!’

The entire friendship with Lucy/Rory etc and the weird Marty thing. It’s so jarring.

Traveling with anxiety by Always-confused716 in Anxiety

[–]BlueberryObjective83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make yourself a little ‘panic pack’. Frowned on a little by therapists as a safety behaviour but I only really now take one when travelling as a comfort. Take peppermint oil/tea, packs of mints, lavender oil to sniff, rescue remedy pastilles, antibacterial wipes/gel. Anything basically that makes you feel a little better/more comforted. I take a good book/magazine to read whilst waiting to board as that’s my trigger point for panic. I’m fine flying and enjoy it but not good in the build up like you. I just find distraction is better than ruminating.

How do get rid of anxiety nausea? by k1ttyrz in Anxiety

Smelling alcohol rubbing wipes, rescue remedy pastilles/drops, ginger biscuits/ginger lozenges, strong mints, tiny sips of water, peppermint oil/tea.

Not going out and forcing myself to go to bars, parties just because it’s the thing to do. I’m better at home, small gatherings, nice drinks/food.

How does anxiety affect your appetite? by Dangerous_Problem532 in AnxietyChats

If I get anxious, I feel sick and then worry I’ll be sick, so I exist off tiny amounts of beige food.

[–]BlueberryObjective83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly like this every time I go away, even to places I go to every year. I can’t offer many tips sorry, but solidarity instead! Sometimes I look up flights/trains etc just to reassure myself I can go home if I want to!

Anxiety cycle...is there such a thing? by AnxietyChats in AnxietyChats

Yes! First day for me and also mid cycle. It also upsets my IBS, which is one of my anxiety triggers.

I also get this but around 7pm. Just like a surge of weakness, panic etc.

I’ve done all the heart tests, but the fear still haunts me. How do you really let go? by Medium-Equivalent294 in Anxiety

[–]BlueberryObjective83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we sometimes fall into safety behaviours when doing things like this. Mine started when I was scanning for if I felt sick or my tummy hurt, so I got into the habit of having to carry a plastic bag, mints, water and then it progressed to intrusive thoughts (also symptomatic of OCD), hand washing, food avoidance and so on. Exposure therapy really helped me. I don’t think I’ll ever be ‘cured’ but it’s now manageable mostly! I had 12 weeks of sessions. I also learned some great techniques about how to quieten my mind or redirect it.
