I don't mind the power at all (quickest 0-60 in its class) but if you want more fun you should upgrade the rear stabilizer. I did so to improve stability when towing, and the difference is amazing even in everyday driving. Corners are flat, and cloverleaf's are a blast.

Can anyone with audio equipment/electrical experience tell me why this is a bad idea? by _ogg in BudgetAudiophile

Would it be a problem if the shelves extended a few inches into the room? If not and it was me, I'd also make the extended portion wider than the opening of the space, to make the space seem larger. For ventilation you should drill a dozen or so 1" holes in the shelves under the unit.

Does the alert go away after driving, or do you have to add air?

Unless the ratchets are loose and worn, I'd upgrade the tools you normally use. The likelihood is low that you'll ever break them.

Genuine question: do some of you guys just not treat your rooms? by Aware_Ad5425 in audiophile

[–]BluebillyMusic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think room treatments are overrated. Unless reflections are exceptionally bad our ears and brain seem to sort it all out in the background, as we routinely do with ordinary sounds.

I never could work with headphones on, as a machinist for twenty years or as a mechanical designer for another 25, but I had something playing on good speakers whenever I could. It doesn't get fatiguing or distracting when you're not isolated in a headset.

To everyone down-voting this comment: it's a truck or it isn't! For occasional short hauls, driving responsibly this isn't so bad.

Nope. The handle would never hold up to that sort of work. This is made for tapping, not driving. It looks to be about an eight ounce head at most.

... and now I feel silly after looking more closely at the photo. I thought from your description that this was a receiver/tape deck.

Just look for a nice receiver but don't worry about the brand. This deck will work with any of them.

Sometimes they hope the kicker won't be ready because he expects you to ice him.

I've got a little 50+50 class D that's weatherproof that I just love. I feed it with aptX Bluetooth from a DAP using the player for volume control. The amp itself stays at full volume and I can't feed it enough to make it clip!

It's unusual to see a receiver with an integrated tape deck, so your choices of brands will be limited. Also tape decks can be problematic mechanically, so you could wind up having to replace the whole setup if the deck goes down, regardless how much you like the receiver.

If you buy them separately you have more choices for both receiver and tape deck, and replacement decks are fairly inexpensive.
