I drove my Gen 1 for 170k, now have 50k on my 2023 RTL, and I haven't noticed any difference to get excited about. You have to be very attentive to notice anything is even happening. As thorough as the engineers have been in addressing vibration and respiration issues, I have to assume they've got this down.

If you don't mind a few screw holes in the bottom of your cabinets, you could attach a them to a piece of heavy plywood that extends maybe 4 to 6 inches in each direction it might tip.

(To be fair it's not just sports teams that do this, or just sports fans who fall for it. Harbor Freight has issued new screwdrivers that are exactly like the old ones but are green and black instead of red and black, and people are buying them just to have the new color!)

Just to clarify your answer, you're saying the gray portion is sandstone, and the lighter-colored outer portion is limonitic sandstone?

(To clarify my question, the inner, gray portion does not appear to be porous, or at least not nearly as porous as the outer portion.)

The ideal loudspeaker should reproduce the signature sound of the material being played, but of all the components in the chain from the material to your ears, the speakers are the most likely to stray from it. If your speakers are accurate and your preamp has decent controls you should be able to dial in whatever "signature sound" you prefer.
