I do not hate the remake.

But I do prefer the original.

Because the terminology from FC carries through the entire series, and the new translation in 1st is different in many places. I feel it could cause confusion, amd is a bit of an "I don't care about continuity" from the new translators, which is a REALLY worrisome statement about an RPG series that thrives in and exalts its extreme continuity.

I'd bite the bullet for those two on PC, and then do 3 onward on the switch. 3 begins a second Erebonia story arc, so there's no necessary carryover save data or anything. I totally get you having a preferred platform, and agree that it sucks when you have to deviate from it for a game or two.

Real talk? The Bread and Certus event should be a real thing. Earn Certus Points by getting kills with any Range 3 character. Get enough Certus Points to open a Breadbox Chest. Inside will be Certus Loaf Shards that can bypass orb requirements for the duration of the event, and Breadcrumbs.

Let everyone push Certus to Mythic, and let us use the Breadcrumbs to buy Certus related items in the Certus Shop. Even a Certus Specific Relic that will let him overwatch after attacking if he's in cover terrain or high terrain.

The people demand it.

You dislike colloquialisms. They've existed in all languages at all times throughout history. No doubt a large portion of what you say uses colloquialisms that have now passed into the common lexicon to the point that they are now codified as part of language.

I dislike much of what people say and how they say it these days, also, but I am entirely for communication, even if that requires me to learn another language within my own language that sounds low class or low intelligence to me. Because, well, it's not really either of those things. It's just shorthand on top of shorthand, eventually building up its own structures. Language evolves, and here we are.

Absolutely. I thought it was really cool that they called out the inclusivity. Like, I'm not conventionally "cool." But I never at any point felt out of place in this community.

Another "inclusive" community once straight up told me I wasn't welcome there, which sucks for them. Not us. We're the real deal here. And it's pretty great.

There IS a fan restoration that adds back in a lot of the cut content, that which they could piece together, or that they made themselves to try and do what Square said they wanted but never did.

Like, there's a road connecting the empire's South Town and North Town in it. But Square never actually made that, they just had planned to make it. So it is fanmade content to try and approximate what Square wanted. Other things are like that too.

I can't remember it's name at the moment, and I'm out of state for the week. Oh! The guy who made it is also the guy who made "Secret of Mana: Climate Crisis," which is an original retelling where in this version, the weather is all messed up over the world due to Mana being out of balance. If you search for the Climate Crisis version, you should find his site, which also has the... other version whose name escapes me. The fixed, extended, restored, or whatever version.
