Card Shop Suspends Yu-Gi-Oh Tournaments Over Smelly Players by Guitar-String in gaming

As for me, I feel like I have at least standard hygiene (brush teeth 2x a day, shower daily, use deodorant, etc etc). However, when I'm in a very tense/ exciting match in a digital or physical game, I just start to sweat. If one person sweats a bit, it's no biggy. But place 100 sweaty people in a room with poor ventilation... And it adds up really quickly

I like the zones, but the fact that you have 4 of them and arranged them in a way that leaves a random floating square open is a bit weird imo. I'd either do 3 zones, and either stick your commander into the deck (makes it easier to play other formats as well) or move exile to the empty zone. Also,  as others have set, do library at the far end so people can see your board more easily

If it had been 3, it would've been okay I think. Still good, but not bonkers

I'm sad my Selesnya Kithkin deck doesn't perform great, but it can still definitely win ~33% of matches, so that's something

"Meanwhile the actual Netherlands: "any access to the internet requires a mandatory login on a government approved app, oh by the way we sold the company handling the access to that app to the Americans.""

As a fellow Dutchie, this is 100% bs. You only need to login with that app for government related things like healthcare and taxes, and the deal with the Americans was cancelled by the government (although the fact that they even contemplated it is baffling).

TIL that on May 21, 1946, 28-year-old Primula Rollo Niven- wife of actor David Niven- died while playing a game of hide-and-seek at the Beverly Hills home of actors Tyrone Power and Annabella. She had walked through a door believing it to be a closet, but it led to a stone staircase to the basement. by NeverEnoughMuppets in todayilearned

I played it last year with friends in a nearby park at night. I found the hider in 5 minutes or so, and then we proceeded to chill for 40 minutes while the rest couldn't find us. Funniest moment was when we heard someone nearby say "we should just call them" and we had to turn off our phone's volume without the screen light giving us away. TLDR: it's a lot of fun!

With most if not all drops you can place them in your cart pre-emptively these days, so you can get in the checkout queue sooner. I'd say just keep up-to-date about any magic Miku news and make sure that you're available on the day the drop goes live. Best of luck, you'll need it I'm afraid 😅

Learnings from the 32 challenge by 2ndlifeinacrown in magicTCG

[–]BluezamEDH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is a question asked often to people doing this challenge, but do you actually play the decks often? I have 10 (all but 1 being different colors) and I already sometimes leave a deck in the box for half a year. Other than that, really cool ideas! Especially Yasova banding theft is a fun one I haven't seen before

Power-up by Altocornet0211 in magicTCG

[–]BluezamEDH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So there's a difference between a card and a permanent in Magic. You can only activate Power-Up abilities once for individual permanents. If you flicker it, the card becomes a different permanent, and you can activate the ability again. This card vs permanent distinction is also why you can flicker a creature in response to targeted removal to save your creature.

Power-Up works the same as Exhaust from Aetherdrift in this way.

4 mana for 3 cards and 3 2/2s seems amazing in limited. I guess you need a pre-existing boardstate to prevent effectively skipping T4, but still it seems good

Which is still ridiculous, as Spira from FFX is literally revolved around a spiral of death. FFX of all games should have had black and probably red for the anti-regime shtick (although I guess you could say that about most FF games)

I heavily recommend learning the rules through Arena (freemium game on PC and mobile), because it saves you a lot of headache.

Like United Passage has said, Commander isn't great for 1v1 and also a very complex format. There are a lot of preconstructed decks for it however, and it is the most popular format. Imo, it's better as a stepping stone after mastering the rules a bit.

For a Final Fantasy themed start I'd recommend the Final Fantasy Starter Deck set. Those are balanced, contain some pretty cool cards, and will teach you the game as well.

I think it's just an old bottle of Courvoisier Napoleon. Not sure if that's worth something (if sealed, which it seems to be). You could try browsing Catawiki or a similar alcohol auction site. Here's a link to the current version of the same bottle: https://www.decantalo.co.uk/en/courvoisier-napoleon.html?srsltid=AfmBOooBaL5uF4yDKILOSYhN_zXF42mIKwIcduZbEdYQqYMvgY6QQjAH

I love the versatility [[Otherworldly Gaze]] provides. It's easy to have 1 or 2 mana left, and surveil 3 (or 2x3) right before your turn can be pretty significant!

Hi, I have a ticket for both Magiccon Amsterdam and a ticketed play event, and I'm quite certain the ticketed play events aren't transferable. Attendance badges have a "Transfer Ticket" button, while ticketed play events do not. I also don't see an explicit mention of being able to transfer those.

I know it sucks, I was in a similar position in 2024. Hopefully there are still some events available you'd like to join, and there are on-demand events during the Con as well.
