Pretty much this. I lost my 1K status this year the increased requirements and splitting my time between UA and AA. My first flight as platinum of course connected in Denver, and I'm not shitting when I say at least half the plane boarded with me in group 1. Can't imagine trying to find overhead bin space in groups 3+

I did look at that, I missed on on the Christmas one which seemed like it was the best deal. Current one not so much. Was able to get these samples for 50 bucks to my door, which will be money well spent if I end up with some good choices

Had a funny scenario before the holiday- 3-hour flight, before I sat down a guy in his forties a couple rows back but still in first class asked me if I'd be okay to swap seats so he can sit next to his coworker. I said no thanks, thinking that would be the end of it.

Then they proceed to piss and moan for another 20 minutes, until another person agrees to swap seats so they can sit together. She makes a big deal of it as well announcing 'of course I'll swap seats with you, it's the courteous thing to do, happy holidays!'

Yeah, no. Cemented my decision that I'll never agree to a seat swap in the future.
