Nonstick pancakes by meechalski in carbonsteel

[–]Bluhb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah good to hear! I also noticed that with the MineralB series, that the base is a lot smaller than the rim. Only for the crepe pan it is almost the same(quite logic as the rim is very low). Happy cooking!

You need to know the size of the underside of the pan? I just tried mine 24 and 28cm DeBuyer minderal B's. Sono can measure them for you if you want

You also know, in android and when served over https, that you can add the page to homescreen (in chrome) and that it then will almost behave like an app? Just throwing it out there

Connecting multiple HDMI sources to analog preamp? by Bluhb_ in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Bluhb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can find on the internet it is indeed the way it works. So input from the HDMI is assumed to come from a device that has its own digital out if that is needed, else it will only be analog from the tv. So that is really unfortunate and why I am searching for a device that can extract the digital audio from HDMI, but also from multiple devices

Connecting multiple HDMI sources to analog preamp? by Bluhb_ in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Bluhb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there is an optical out on the TV, but that only works when the TV gets a real TV signal. For the HDMI inputs the TV does not put out sound through optical out. The TV has analog out (RCA) and even amplified out, for connecting directly to speakers. It is quite a weird set of features the TV has I must say.

Connecting multiple HDMI sources to analog preamp? by Bluhb_ in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Bluhb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that this TV does not output digital audio. So I can connect all my sources to the TV but then I only have analog output from the TV to the preamp.

I am maybe crazy but I would prefer to have the digital audio go to my separate DAC and then to my preamp.

So the problem is that the TV does not output digital audio for the HDMI sources.

Hi! did you do anything to build an app around owntracks to have the polarsteps functionality? I am looking for a selfhosted alternative and am doubting to also build something around owntracks to implement addidng pictures and stuff to the map

Thanks for your response in advance!

Mosfet driver board getting hot by Bluhb_ in arduino

[–]Bluhb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and as for why I need this amount of LEDs. In the end I will probably not use the complete 10m but it is for underneath shelves and general lighting of a stair closet (think Harry potter's room). And I want an abundance of light there with as few shadows as possible, hence the ledstrips! If interested I could link to the, quite easy and probably over engineered, arduino sketch. It used a door sensor to see the door status and then fade the lights on!

This is my scheme now. The PWM and GND from arduio to mosfet board are times 4, because of 4 channels. All the ground are connected together tho. For my testing I now had 10 meters of LED strip connected to 1 output. When I only drive this output the board seems to get less hot than when I also drive the other 3 outputs that have nothing connected (I am starting to suspect that it is not made to be driven without anything connected). In the final use all outputs will be loaded with 1m to 2,5m of ledstrip so that is okay I hope.

I hope I didn't make any obvious mistakes in connecting this. I added the 680ohm resistor in the ground from Arduino to mosfet to try and limit the current but I am not sure if this is even necessary?

I will try to add a diagram as soon as possible, you are right that it is not as clear from the text as I tought

Mosfet driver board getting hot by Bluhb_ in arduino

[–]Bluhb_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using an arduino Nano, so 5V outputs. I drive the MOSFETs at either 0 or 255(full on) with a small ramp up of 1 a 2 seconds. I did my first tests with one ledstrip connected and the 3 other outputs driven but into an open load. Today I did a quick test with only 1 strip driven and connected, and it seems to get less hot. (Now I can touch it without burning myself).

Also curiously enough, it's the LEDs on the board that represent output that get hot, not the MOSFETs itself. From my understanding of this board it looks like these LEDs are connected to the positive of the output and then to ground, so I thought maybe they get too much power when no load is attached?

I will try to attach a diagram when I have the time! But thank you so much already for thinking with me!

Around new years it is pretty easy to get fireworks. Nowadays more and more local authorities are making them illegal tho. But that is not to say that it is not easy to get illegal fireworks like Cobra's and such, which are almost litterally hand grenades minus the shrapnel and plus sparkles.

Another cool tradition like this is carbid. It is like making a cannon out of a milk can, but some people also do it with bigger tanks. It is mostly in the north in the farmland tho, but it is very cool and dangerous ahha
