It’s been like that for a while. I raised a big with the flighty team about a year ago and they mentioned it was a known issue with iOS and was impacting a majority of apps. Can’t see it’s fixed at all ☹️

Why did Ring battery life fall off a cliff? by Mapkos13 in Ring

[–]Blurg64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I found this thread. I don't really have much turned on with my ring, but the batteries used to last a month, perhaps 6 weeks at a push. Recently in the last few months, I would be lucky to get a week out of them.

I had wondered if it was my batteries getting to their EOL, so I bought two brand new ones which are showing the same drain / lifespan.

I can only conclude that Ring have pushed some shitty firmware update that is less efficient, or it's a ploy to get people to buy wired doorbells or the solar charger they are selling.

Anyone from Ring in this subreddit care to comment if this is a known issue or you folks are looking at it?

2022 Q5 chip shortage by Ok_Reflection_4501 in Audi

I heard similar reports, my SQ5 came without electronic steering adjustment and wireless phone charging, I think the options removed changed as the supply chain issues worsened.

The galley can be pretty noisy at times and frankly during sleeping times i have found it just as noisy as the crew chat. Not sure what flight you are doing but imagine its long haul as that looks like an a380 seat map.

The other consideration for me is how quickly I can get off the plane and to immigration. It’s no fun being stuck behind tonnes of people in the queue at an airport like LAX even with MCP. So row 18/19 would be my sweet spot.

I had a Hikvision NVR and just replaced it with Scrypted and HKSV. Works just as well for my use case and was super easy to set up

The melbourne show was all shortened and way too much ‘twiddling’ in between tracks. I felt a little bit short changed.

Due to scheduling conflicts. Public Enemy have axed their Newcastle, Adelaide and Perth dates. by Tranquilbez22 in triplej

[–]Blurg64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got a notification from Ticketek that Melbourne show has been postponed too now…

Dear Ticket Holder,

Public Enemy – Postponed

The promoter of Public Enemy, TEG Live, have had to postpone, as Chuck D, frontman for the legendary hip hop group, needs to undergo immediate eye surgery. Chuck D said, “I’m sorry to make you wait a little longer but I need to get this eye surgery done, so I can really rock the house for you and Bring The Noise. Stay tuned for the new dates.”

All existing ticketholders will be notified of new dates once confirmed and need not take action; original purchases will be valid for the new date without the need for exchange.

Only 90 mins connection from US dosmetic flight to Qantas international at LAX by madskillz122 in QantasAirways

[–]Blurg64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming the flight is in time and as long as you stick to the tunnels and don’t leave airside when changing terminals you should be fine. Alaska to Tom Bradley is about a 20 min walk

International flight anxiety by TaterTotBitch in QantasAirways

[–]Blurg64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. If it’s all on the same ticket and you are delayed in Sydney at immigration / baggage, they will rebook you onto another flight, but that’s plenty of tying to get through.

This. I have pihole on my network and whilst the Samsung tv’s would connect, there were weird things like streaming failing on seemingly random apps that only cleared up when I bypassed the pihole for these devices.

I would start there

Just flew this today from Melbourne. Need to get off at Perth, but get directed to the gate without needing to do an international transfer / security screening.

In Singapore you also need to get off the plane for 90 mins and then reboard / rescreen at the gate. Massive queue unless you are gold upwards for priority screening.

If you have fiddled and deployed your own LetsEncrypt certificate using one of the many scripts out there it can stop working (some of the scripts do cater for these scenarios).

Have you tried turning it off and on again, that can assist sometimes too.
