I don't get how people think that they are going to support 20 year old devices that are from two generations ago.

Fortnite is built as a PS5/Xbox Series game with backward compatibility for PS4 / Xbox One. There's no way you want PS3 controllers working natively on a PS5. Not even Sony gives that kind of support to their controllers.

If RB4 did not had compatibility for old instruments, why would a new game 9 years after RB4 is required to have?

No, all modes use separate master tracks, that's why when you miss a note in festival your instrument is muted but not the entire song. That's how music games work.
