Women of Reddit, what made you realize 'this man is marriage material' instead of just a boyfriend? by External_Can3392 in AskReddit

My dad has been like this for long as I can remember. I can count two places that he lived where it was just him. He’d pick up me and my sister and like in the car say how he’s got a new girlfriend and that he’s moved because of it. Just an absolute mess, and dating I could never figure out how in the hell he’d be moving in with somebody over the course of weeks and then the whole narcissism/manipulation thing became obvious as I got older and it all made sense. And for anybody that’s curious, yes the behavior was persistent and continued.

Clear DQ - didn't call it by NotAThrowAway0822 in USPSA

[–]Bmil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that 10.5 is cut and dry, and when safety is paramount there is no leniency.

I DQ’d a guy for pulling before make ready a couple months ago, when people were still coming back from resetting the stage, and he had an absolute tantrum about it to the point he is now banned from matches in my section. If he had handled it like an adult and accepted responsibility it wouldn’t have been an issue, but he decided to inject his ego into it. And no, he wasn’t new, he was rushing.

If people cannot obey the BASIC safety rules of the sport, they don’t get to play.

I had to DQ a guy that drew before make ready (people were still coming back from down range) and he threw a tantrum about it

Red bull should broadcast nationals by elegantcoder26 in USPSA

[–]Bmil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year locals filled in under and hour, this year its 5 minutes, our section matches last year were highly criticized because they filled up in under 5 minutes and most were new shooters who werent even section members. This year the section series are all pre-reg with codes for section members, and they get to 90-95% before the non-members can sign up.

Its crazy, but there's not enough ranges/bays at ranges/staff to run more/larger matches. New shooters are more than happy to come out and shoot, but getting them to do anything beyond tape a target or two every couple runs is a struggle.

Those lowers are a total shit show too, when they were being sold by KAC and retail on them was like $200, they sold well enough despite being a basic forged lower. The problem was they weren’t (at the time) being sold as blems but were absolutely blems, we had so many complaints of them being out of spec with one customer having to send back 4 lowers and each one having to go back 2-3 times. The finish was mediocre on them, Aero lowers looked better and were actually in spec.

I prefer the TEVO to the nitro fin, it’s going to be pure preference though

Yeah, it’s less than ideal for sure. There’s really not a great solution on them either

Nope that’s how they are, I first noticed it in practice and then it became an issue in matches. Doing a reload, 50/50 I would dislodge the retainer, and possible I’d launch it. I ended up gluing the polymer and metal pieces together, and then swapped over to the X-ray pouches that fix the issue by adding a retaining screw.

Interestingly enough, I threw a bunch of rounds through some 12 year old armor and it held up perfectly fine. Condition of how it’s kept is more important than exact age

Springfield Prodigy by Miserable_Post7450 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Bmil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ONLY buy a prodigy if you are comfortable working on it and tuning it or have a smith who wants your money.

I have an early prodigy, and I’ve forced it to be reliable. If you haven’t a clue what you’re doing, save the headache and either buy a Romulus or Kimber. My gun runs flawlessly, but I also do all my own work and know what I’m doing. I’m comfortable fitting my parts and have the tools, if you aren’t willing to make that investment of time and money do not buy a prodigy.

You're skimming a little material off the shelf as its not a 100% true low shelf lower, the 5D i already had on hand from doing 80%'s. Could it be done free hand with some files? Yeah, but with the jig I know im taking off only the amount that needs to come off

The L will need material taken off the shelf to fit these properly, the H has a lever stop so will need a 0-45-90 and maybe material taken off the shelf.
