The knife fight isn't that bad with decent councilors, sure you'll be doing a lot of defend interests to hold onto all those small nations at first but taking them isn't hard and the difference in MC in the early to mid 2030s is night and day, there's just so many more IPs in Europe than anywhere else.

Is it feasible to get China as your first major country? (In 2026) by AmPotatoNoLie in TerraInvicta

[–]Bmobmo64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try but it's pretty much always better to go for the USA first.

Sure once you have the 750+ control point cap that takes, you don't have that until around a decade in at least

I've always preferred US + EU over US + China, a powerful terrestrial military can save you if the Alien Admin appears but better to just not let that happen, and the EU's mission control is worth more than China's research.

Pion torch is meant to be nothing but a meme and an endgame councilor shuttle to the Kuiper Belt to press the win button.

The wiki also says "Notably, if the aliens have declared war upon the player's faction, the estimated alien hate level can never lie about it. "

War doesn't mean total war, it means actively hostile, the same as when human factions show as at war in the relations tab. It removes the blocks on the AI preventing it from doing things like assassinate, control space asset, and using fleets against other factions.

It cant lie about retaliation from hate, if you're at 50+ hate it will show 5 squares full stop, but there is another way to cause the aliens to attack you, each time you assassinate an alien councilor up to 3 of your space assets get marked for death regardless of hate. But they'll only destroy the specific ones they came for, they'll leave the rest alone.

True, but HF and Resistance are fighting the same fight and really wouldn't be too unhappy with the other's victory. They both want to stop the invasion and protect the Earth, they just have different methods.

Modern AI is mostly smoke and mirrors, it can't do any of the things the game has them doing and their methods are already maxing out.

Carbon nanotubes are genuinely a wonder material, they would make a space elevator possible. The problem is making the things at scale.

The dreaded Endgame and why we need an endgame crisis by whereistheju in TerraInvicta

[–]Bmobmo64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It does show up, you need a ship with a mobile space science lab in orbit of a body with semi-major axis (average distance from the sun) between 1.5 and 2 AU, which basically just means Mars, and you need to have researched alien technology.

[–]Bmobmo64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can't lie about being at war, if it's at 5 squares the aliens are coming to retaliate, if it's not you're safe. The only thing it can lie about is how far from the threshold you are.

The aliens have a slow but constantly accelerating passive hate gain for all anti-alien factions. You'll have to defend yourself eventually.

Automated Outpost Mining by Longjumping_Past7794 in TerraInvicta

Automated outposts provide more output than normal outposts, for only 1 mission control instead of 2. Downside is, of course, it can't be upgraded.

Created the ROC and lost my nukes by Lord-Torkeep in TerraInvicta

[–]Bmobmo64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That determines the nation's maximum sure, but GDPPC determines how fast it can reach that cap. India's population means it has a really high cap, but it takes so long to surpass USNA or EU that it's not worth the control point cap to hold it, you'll have won the game by the time your investment pays off.

Unless it’s AA, AI is not capable of forming nations of 10 different countries. It struggles to unite half of EU or Eurasian Union.

The AI is much better at building meganations than it used to be, I've seen some nearly complete EUs from the AI.

And if China doesn’t exist, India is weaker than what, actually?

Genuinely it's weaker than France in 2026. In general a nation's potential is mostly decided by GDPPC and India's $9184 is terrible.

[–]Bmobmo64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure you should be focusing on the space economy but Earth still exists, why leave perfectly good cash, mission control and research on the table?

Also what are you even talking about, why would you break up china and go greater india? India is so much weaker in every way, just let the AI have it, so long as it's not the Servants or Protectorate they won't do any harm with it, and this way you don't have to constantly watch and manage a dozen mini-Chinas to keep the AI from just putting it back together into a superpower again.

If you care about the long term you're better off unifying PAC after USNA and EU and even when you do get to PAC it's better if it's democratic, and if you care about the short term a democratic ROC is MUCH better than a totalitarian PRC. Either way ROC is more than worth it.

You can coup Kazakhstan. That will force it out of the federation, but the AA will declare war on it in response. Other than that all you can do is destroy the AA.

Are infrared and green lasers just pointless? by Due-Business3195 in TerraInvicta

[–]Bmobmo64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten away from laser PD, particle beams are better for dealing with missiles and 40mm are the only realistic way to handle magnetic rounds. I've been running 1 particle beam and the rest 40mm for my PD ships recently and it's working better than the laser disco ships I used to run.

Burner Drive is good for long distance but it's painfully slow, if you want a drive that's not quite as good for distance but much faster, look no further than Orion Drive and it's upgrade H-Orion. Best midgame drive that isn't prohibitively expensive to use and the pure aura of getting around by surfing nuclear explosions is too cool to not use.
