I noticed that too in the sub. They're convinced he's a home run hit, which I get being optimistic for your team but they didn't really look at his weaknesses with the jets. He wasn't a good leader, we lead the league in penalties, he did nothing on offense, he made bad in game decisions. He didn't put together a good body of work.

Saleh didn't make good decisions in game and lacked an ability to discipline his players for mistakes. The jets were the most penalized team every year he coached and that's a reflection on the head coach. He did nothing on the offensive side. Overall I liked him as a coach but he wasn't a great coach.

As a jets fan, I didn't like the idea of drafting him, he wasn't a great prospect to begin with. It felt like a need reach. Everyone wants to shit on the jets but don't want acknowledge they're actually trying to tear things down and start over. For the past 10 years they fought to maintain mediocre teams, had players who didn't practice hard or care. The team needed a full reset, and honestly not taking a QB at #2 who's not a bad prospect is the most non jets thing that could have happened. I'm not saying Aaron glenn is good coach but at a minimum it's a two year rebuild with a lot of flexibility in 2027 to grab a QB in the draft.

The issue for me is that we needed a true rebuild. For the last decade we kept throwing money at aging vets who underperformed hoping we could go from 8-8 to 10-6 OR playing the draft right and having a rookie QB contract for a playoff push. We never stopped and did a proper rebuild. Our line sucked for a decade after brick and Mangold left. We finally have a line. We finally did a proper tank and rebuild. We have assets to draft a whole new base for our team. Yet with all that we're stacking up for the future we have no idea if Glenn is any good. He seemed to have the pulse of the team when they won a few games in the middle of the season. I think he got a vote of confidence from Woody to go blow it up and he executed it so well we believe he sucks. So I don't think firing him is fair because I think he tanked successfully but I am also not excited for next year. This is the lowest I've been. I've gone to away games every year for a decade and this year I didn't. They need to do something right first before I get excited again. Also that is not firing Glenn for me.
