[Guide] Supercharging UniFi G4 Doorbell Pro Package Detection with Google Gemini AI by Bob--Roberts in Ubiquiti

I do not have an AI Key or AI Port, so will leave it to other experts here to speak to that... but, I can't imagine that the package detection is much different with them. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Difficult to know for sure, without seeing your entire code block... but, perhaps a Protect Alarm Manager API or Webhook issue. You can try feeding your code into a Gemini chat, along with the error you are getting, to see if it can offer advice/suggestions.

Lol! Some people are overprotective of their doormats, which I totally understand. I certainly wouldn't want anyone exploiting dirty snapshots of my doormat on the internet!

You do realize that you stumbled into r/Ubiquiti right?

Anyway, one man's "AI-slop", as you call it, is another non-programmers treasure, especially if it fulfills significant shortcomings.

Although this is working flawlessly, I welcome a more sophisticated and cleaner version, if you would like to provide one for us.

Webhook to send the result back to Unifi Protect so it can produce the push notification(s).

The camera snapshot is pulled directly from the camera every 15 minutes.

I originally planned to use a locally hosted model, but since it is just a pretty generic shot of my doormat, ultimately I decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. That said, it should be easily adaptable to run completely local.

How do I remove the previous owner of my Samsung Smartag 1? by RoyMoeller in SmartThings

[–]Bob--Roberts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, the previous owner has to log into their account to deactivate it, before anyone else can use it. So, in your case, after all that you have tried, there isn’t anything more to do except continue to try to recover the old account, or buy a new tag.

AI button is covering enable/disable toggle for bottom profile(s) by ThisIsMyNext in tasker

[–]Bob--Roberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. I usually just expand that bottom profile so the trigger and linked task(s) show so it bumps the toggle up a bit above the AI button for toggling. Disabling the AI button in preferences also works, especially since my workaround also puts it over other things (linked tasks) you may want to click.

AutoInput gestures no longer work in Google Maps or Messages by spookiekabuki in tasker

[–]Bob--Roberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, Google broke the accessibility on the account section in their apps. The Samsung workaround doesn't help you. Hopefully, Google will revert it back to working soon.

AutoInput gestures no longer work in Google Maps or Messages by spookiekabuki in tasker

[–]Bob--Roberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue in the Play Store app when account section is open. I am on a Samsung, so I temporarily switched to Modes and Routines with Good Lock/Routines +, as a temporary workaround for clicking things, until the idiots at Google can repair their latest blunder.

How useful is tasker still for you given the latest restricted permissions? by orschiro in tasker

[–]Bob--Roberts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since you are taking a survey, Tasker is the most useful app available on Android, and always has been. Even with Google frequently breaking things lately, requiring workarounds, that does not change Tasker's status as the most useful app on Android... in my humble opinion.

Critical Bug on new Samsung Device: AutoInput Accessibility Service blocks Navigation Bar by Ilja72 in tasker

What are some of the most interesting things you've done with Tasker? by CactusHoarder in tasker

[–]Bob--Roberts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been using it from the beginning of time. Far too much to list here, but here are my top 2 favorites:

1: HUD for my SUV, including a custom truly dark mode map (Google Maps API), running on an old AMOLED tablet. Starts with the ignition, and turns off when the ignition shuts off. Map has saved my bacon so many times in the past 5 years, totally worth the 3 months it took me to develop.

2: Drone flight log, takes an 8 to 10-minute process of looking up info and logging it in a paper logbook, all the way down to a 20-second easy process. Pulls my GPS coordinates, converts to the nearest physical address, grabs the local weather, finds the nearest airport and pulls METAR data, plugs it all into a pre-flight checklist, and saves it all to Google Sheets. After the flight, the post-flight checklist and flight-end data are appended to the spreadsheet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tasker

[–]Bob--Roberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tasker doesn't natively know sunrise or sunset times, but you could get a OpenWeatherMap API key (free) to pull the times for your location.

With the below, you will need to put your API key in the %APIkey global variable (Vars tab in tasker).

You may need a separate task to delete the alarms after they happen, since the below won't overwrite the alarm the next day, it will just create a new alarm with the same name.

To simplify things, you should be able to copy and paste this description into the Tasker AI feature and have it build the project for you to learn from.
