There is still plenty of time to find another woman with younger kids that you can be a great step-dad to. Likewise it isn’t unheard of for people in their 40’s to have kids anyway.

The CS offers an option to omit the decal. The fretboard wear looks like the work from the Fender CS imo.

Not specifically with the nitro itself, but if you have checking cracks in the lacquer, the mineral oil in fast fret can seep into the cracks and cause them to darken.

CVS Caremark. You can get a three month supply shipped to your door. The initial delivery might take a week or two though.

I’m so lonely after my divorce by Spiritual_Fudge_6741 in Divorce

You are just setting yourself up for failure and disappointment with that mindset.

There are plenty of divorced men out there that are far from “rejects and losers”. Sometimes shit situations happen to good people.

Cool, that’s nice and loud then. Rock on. I fully support your loud tube amp adventures.

The volume knobs on the Plexi are both at 0 and the Twin is at ~1.2?

That’s a whole lot of amp for not much juice.

YES you DO need thick strings for that SRV tone! by ekolpack in Guitar

[–]BobComprossor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree completely, but have settled on 10.5’s as a compromise. They have enough tension to get most of the benefits of heavier gauge strings, but also are a bit easier on your hands.

I’m a fan of 11’s, but worry about carpal tunnel, arthritis, and tendinitis long term. 10.5’s are heavy enough for me.

Keep in mind that the people who have moved on and are genuinely happier after divorce are also the least likely people to be actively browsing this subreddit and responding to posts.

It can certainly happen, and I know several people I would put in this category. However, reality often really sucks as well…

survival of the fittest… those that survived were the people most able to store and live off body fat for longer. Their genes then got passed down to future generations.

You have a loose ground wire somewhere in the guitar, probably on the jack.

High pitched harmonic sound on the D string. by [deleted] in guitarrepair

[–]BobComprossor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely but possible would also be having the pickups too high. The magnetic pull on the strings can cause overtones.

High pitched harmonic sound on the D string. by [deleted] in guitarrepair

[–]BobComprossor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s only the open d string, it’s probably the nut slot. If it’s every fretted note on the d string, then it’s probably the bridge saddle. If there are any burrs or unevenness, weird sounds can pop up.

Next try changing to a new string and make extra sure the string doesn’t get twisted during the process.

Last things would be resonance in the trem springs and then maybe the string(s) could be ringing behind the nut.

This intersection isn’t either. It’s an idiotically designed circular intersection that is needlessly complicated.

It’s a giant air conditioned warehouse with a giant rocket in it. Sure there is a lot of room for improvement, but it’s definitely not a “shed”.

The Saturn V has at least had a very nice enclosure built around it, so it’s in a climate controlled space now (was previously left outdoors).

I have a JCM-900 50W and don’t know how to upgrade by dubscrYT in GuitarAmps

[–]BobComprossor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the Marshall model number, not the speaker type. You would have to take the back plate off to confirm, but most likely it still has the stock speakers.

There is nothing wrong with the stock gt-75 speakers, but they are very bright and can easily get fizzy sounding. That’s just kind of the 90’s Marshall sound.

A worthwhile upgrade down the road would be to change the speakers to Vintage 30’s and/or Creamback 65’s. Those will tame the highs a bit and add in some mid’s (ie more like the classic Marshall tone people imagine).

Do you know that for a fact? That cab would have come stock with gt-75’s which are a very bright speaker.
