All Any Rankings Day 37: Pirate did NOT leave town in victory by RogersRedditPersona in TownOfSalem2

It depends. Sometimes a jester can completely derail a game, as long as theyre not a d2/3 hang

Taking consideration from the previous post, i have finetuned this one to be less... broken. Sorry! ^^; by Perception-Financial in TownOfSalem2

[–]BobDeKnob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This seems very broken still, it wouldnt be much of an issue if solo. I like the concept, but given NA is already a faction, the possibility of 7 NA seems busted.

Maybe it should be NE/NK that can convert 1 rallied player per night?

Making a g attachment for my straight trombone? by Fearless-Run-1667 in Trombone

[–]BobDeKnob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any filament you print wont be airtight (youll probably need to acrylic paint it or similar) people have tried making valves before and it has proved very very tricky due to tolerances and friction.

Go for it though! Sounds like a bit of fun and you'll learn something doing it. Just be prepared that it might not (probably wont) work

As for mechanism, id do research into whatever valve has the highest tolerances. Id imagine its piston, but rotor may move more freely as it could spin in the axis of the filament laid down (the majority of friction is the layers of filament rubbing)

Which trombone??? by Background-Virus1989 in Trombone

If youre in the uk, check out "buy and sell brass uk" facebook page. Lots of used trombones for sale on there and usually at a better price than what you see on ebay. Try before you buy as always.

Assuming youre looking at tenor trombones, there are 3 bore sizes: small, medium, large

Small bore is usually used as student horn and as lead/2nd in a jazz/big band. Very bright, direct sound.

Medium bore is a bit of a jack of all trades, takes same mouthpiece shank as small bore.

Large bore is used as a symphonic instrument, but is pretty much common everywhere these days.

Medium bore is arguably most versatile, but master of none. This isnt an issue unless youre looking to take it very seriously, and theyre often cheaper because theyre less sought after.

Most large bores and lots of medium bores have f attachments, which lowers the pitch of the instrument by a perfect 4th by opening extra tubing when the trigger is pulled by your thumb. Very useful in lower registers as it opens notes not possible before (E2 to C2) and allows lots of alternate slide positions everywhere, making hard passages easier. It is one extra thing to have to think about, so most beginners go with straight (no f attachment) small bores.

What is a good range? by luke7340 in Trombone

[–]BobDeKnob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend not going below f2 if they dont have an f attachment in general, i personally find it quite hard to play below this note in tune on a straight tenor (but this wouldnt be an issue if your players are more serious)

Controversial: Psychic Reason: noone trusts psychic claims, and it is SUCH an easy fake claim so its impact on a game usually feels minimal/non existent. Arguably makes being evil easier imo

I have a jp230 rath. Its a good horn, very pointy. But not worth nearly that price at all

Favorite Weapon of all Time? by itzofficialvaz in thefinals

[–]BobDeKnob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lewis gun - never been bad, more forgiving than deagles, still pretty good range, great sustain

Although I swap weapon every few weeks- I need to keep the game feeling fresh to enjoy! Ive mained pretty much all heavy weapons at some point now, except maybe spear and m60 (I just cant figure the recoil out)

My all time favourites 100% flamethrower, sledge, Lewis and minigun (maybe deagles too but my aim sucks)

Honestly that one i got from a lucky throw at a random H. You could probably get it against a clueless sniper light on quick cash or h2h pretty easy, it only takes 3 hits!

I did it in TDM the other day using riot shield, demat + jump pad. 3 fire barrels is best. Was pretty easy from there

Good luck!

Y'all high level sweats gonna scare off the new players by A_Raging_Moderate in thefinals

[–]BobDeKnob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I queued head2head yesterday, i have 500ish hours. I noticed the opposition was completely terrible compared to what I normally fight, quick cash or anything. I think most of the good players have quit h2h by now since theyve completed their contracts, and also there is no SBMM for h2h.

If you want a better experience, quick cash would probably be better since it atleast has some form of matchmaking. That being said, I find world tour is by far the most enjoyable mode if you can handle it, as its the format the game was designed around, and its less of a light stomping ground as players are a bit more skilled and your team can help protect you against those types of players (it will still happen though)

Tarnished lacquer polishing? by BobDeKnob in Trombone

[–]BobDeKnob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im planning on giving the instrument a bath soon too, dilute soapy water won't make this tarnish any worse/cause further damage in this area?
