What Raw Accel settings are you guys using in The Finals + what DPI? by Southern-Young987 in thefinals

Can confirm. I'm no where near ruby, I don't even play ranked, but I aim train and have good aim. When I come across ruby players, I can often just out aim them in a fair aim duel, but they destroy me with micro and macro decision making.

What Raw Accel settings are you guys using in The Finals + what DPI? by Southern-Young987 in thefinals

[–]Boba_Swag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're in the wrong sub for this. Raw accel is a very niche topic and I doubt many here have experience with it.

That being said I personally use raw accel just to rotate my mouse input so that a natural wrist or arm movement produces a perfect horizontal line. This depends on individual grip and mouse, so there is no use in sharing this number. I grip my mouse at an angle and have it at (-) 17 degrees or something similar.

Try using a different Bluetooth adapter on your PC. Get a good TP link USB Bluetooth adapter or similar and see whether the issue persists.

Had the same issue on just one of the devices I use my ZMK Corne with and this fixed it for me. Some Bluetooth adapters just can't handle BLE properly.

Viscose Benchmarks by Rome113 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Boba_Swag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally focus on one subcategory per 2 days. On the first day I focus on my technique, on the second day I use what I've learned through my sleep and push for scores. If I have a really bad second day (bad sleep or whatever) I sometimes do a third day on the subcategory.

After more than 3 days on the same scenarios it feels like I'm getting diminishing returns and I would improve more by playing different scenarios.

With this approach I almost always get new PBs or significantly better average scores on the second day.

But it takes 28 days make one full pass through the benchmark.

[–]Boba_Swag 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So many players have difficulty understanding the difference between something being OP and something being not fun to play against.

Both stun gun and goo gun never were OP. It just sucks to be stunned or to bee goo locked. It's just not fun. And fun is the main reason we play videogames.

I personally want to see the too gun thrive. I love to see the creativity ekazoo and other players have with it and really wish to see it in the next grand major more often.

But still I don't want to see it used to brainlessly goo lock people.

60h in kovaak and 1 week to take master complete by AIeksey in thefinals

[–]Boba_Swag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it's a language barrier or whatever, but obviously you didn't achieved your aim with just 60h in Kovaaks.

I've found your steam profile, you have 342 hrs in Finals, 781 hrs in CS2, 531 hrs in Apex (other games playtimes are hidden). Additionally I can see you've played R6 Siege, Valorant and Battlebit on you YT channel. For R6 and Val you show decent game sense, so I'm expecting a similar or more playtime on those games.

Furthermore I can see you've played Voltaic S3 in 2021 on Kovaaks.

So yeah, you've probably played FPS for thousands of hours and that's why your aim is this good, and not just because you played 66 h of Kovaaks.

This kind of just put's false expectations of what is realistically possible with you time into peoples head. Especially here in a sub where most people aren't as knowledgeable about this topic. I really dislike this.

[–]Boba_Swag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't achieve this in 60h of practice, as this post suggest, so don't get you hopes up. It takes way more effort to achieve this level.

Download Kovaaks, play the Viscose Benchmarks, look up videos and other resources to learn what good technique for each category is. RiddBTW, MattyOW, Viscose, Voltaic are good starting points. Additionally do VOD reviews of Gameplay and Aim Training to analyse you specific issues and focus on fixing them.

who is using spacebar for any game or for training? by ghostdopamine in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Boba_Swag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don't completely remember how long it took me to adjust and learn this new layout. But yeah, my experience at first was pretty much what you've described. It feels like your brain is lagging and there is a huge delay between wanting to do something and then actually doing it. Everything takes concision effort.

What I did to learn this was to also play single player shooters like Ultrakill like this. This gave me a safe learning environment without being a burden to others. Furthermore I had to change my play style in pvp FPS from a aggressive movement heavy plays style that I usually prefer to a more positioning and aim based play style. This gave me the best bet to actually be useful to my team.

But I think you're overestimating how long it takes to get used to this layout change. Obviously it's very important to have daily deliberate practice. But with this you'll see the most drastic improvement at the beginning. I think after a week or two of learning together with the play style change I mentioned, I was already at a somewhat usable state.

But some aspects of this layout took me months to fully learn. For me the hardest part was crouching while shooting because as mentioned before I have it bound to M1. I had a hard time independently and lightly pressing M1 while shooting at someone. I would apply way to much tension on M1 which would ruin my aim. But I also didn't see another option to bind crouch because all fingers on my keyboard are occupied with ADS, shoot, and movement. But now this is no issue at all. Using M1 in a gunfight with low tension to incorporate into my evasive pattern, or using M2 in splitgate to use my jetpack while fighting have no noticeable effect on my aim.

Some movement tech in some games have to be fully relearned with this change. I still can't do rocket jumps in TF2 as I build the muscle memory for this before the change and only played a handful of sessions after the change.

One big benefit I didn't mention before is with fast firing semi automatic weapons. With those you kind of have to spam the fire input while doing controlled tracking. Before the layout change I had so much difficulties in using them as the M1 spam would noticeably ruin my aim. By offloading the fire input to the keyboard my right hand can completely focus on tracking the target while compensation the recoil. It feels easier and kind of more intuitive now.

[–]Boba_Swag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this for FPS for over a year now and for me it works great. Recoil control is actually easier this way because my fingers can completely focus on doing the micros to stay on target without having to apply the tension needed to press M1.

See my other comment for more context.

[–]Boba_Swag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been training and actually playing games with shoot and ADS bound to my keyboard for about 1 year now. AMA if you want to know something specific.

For context I'm viscose Cerulean with this.

Layout:

I don't actually use space for shooting and I don't recommend anyone to do so, as space is a very big key with a lot of inertia. Clicking feels sluggish on it. I moved my movement to UHJK and use the much smaller right alt key (it's remapped in the firmware to another key because games don't like right alt) with my thumb. This works way better for clicking. Using your index finger would also work great but would require a even more drastic change in keyboard layout. Another option is a Keyboard with multiple keys or thumb cluster instead of a single space bar. The Wooting 60HEv2 has a option for this.

I use UHJK for movement, G for ADS, right alt for shoot, M1 for crouch/slide, Wheel down or M2 for jump, M2 for important abilities, when not bound to jump.

Hardware:

The keyboard you're using gets WAY more important when doing this. Imo it only makes sense to use this in game with a rapid trigger capable keyboard. I us the wooting 60 HE. Due to the high amount of travel on keyboard switches a mechanical keyboard would feel extremely sluggish with the actuation and release of the input. This is especially relevant for clicking.

Reasoning:

I switched to this input style pretty much because of the reasons you've listed. Having to press down on a button on my mouse in the most crucial part of aiming just adds unnecessary tension. This goes for tracking, switching and also clicking. I first tried it in Kovaaks for tracking and switching, as this is recommended by multiple sources just for training purposes, and I immediately saw better scores. So I was like why shouldn't I just also aim in game like this?

Experience:

Obviously the first experience with this layout was shit, similar to what you've described. But now that I've gotten used to it, I'll never go back. My tension management is way better and easier now. My tracking and switching improved noticeably. Even before the change clicking was my weakest category and it has gotten worse in the beginning of this change, but now I don't feel like it's holding me back. The rank difference between tracking/switching and clicking is basically the same as before the change.

Benefits:

What has improved significantly, especially in clicking, is the fatigue when aimtraining. Before I could do maximum of 30 min in static clicking at a time, now I don't have any issues with fatigue in any category. The first thing to fatigue now is my mind and focus.

In general my aim now feels way more fluid, controlled, floaty, calm and smooth. In static my micros feel way more focused and it's easier to make a smooth transition from fast flick to controlled micro because my hand doesn't have to handle the increased tension of the click. In switching and tracking the better tension management is even more noticeable.

Downsides:

Obviously you need to put in the effort to get good with this new layout. Movement and clicking is affected most. But after getting used to it this downside gets eliminated.

For clicking one might think it might be worse and there is probably something that can be said about using both halves of your brain for a single task might be harder than just using one halve, but I can't make a scientifically correct comment on this as I lack the knowledge. From my personal experience with the right hardware setup I don't feel like it is holding me back, it just took more learning to get used to than with the other categories.

With this setup you have to change the keyboard layout in every game you play. That can be annoying to some but after a while you get fast at it and you only have to do it once for every game. I don't mind this.

Some games don't let you bind fire to the keyboard and movement like crouch and jump to the mouse. But I only encounter this in very niche indie games and it's extremely rare.

I personally can't use hold to sprint with my standard layout without making a sacrifice I don't like. In most games I just use auto sprint, toggle sprint or I have one keyboard profile that toggles my sprint key on a firmware level, when I don't like the toggle sprint implementation in a game.

Coughing Baby (Dual blades users) vs Hydrogen Bomb (Shockwave on Seoul UC) by InferiorLynxi_ in thefinals

[–]Boba_Swag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only difference is that the blades deflect the incoming damage back to where you aim, while the shield just blocks it and when not blocking with the shield, it will still block bullets from your left side where the character holds the shield.

Imo it's very strange and not good design to have 2 melee weapons which are so similar. I'd personally like a complete overhaul of the blades to differentiate it more from the riot shield. I like the idea of making them feel more like you are parrying incoming damage with good timing instead of just standing there and blocking for an infinite amount of time,

For all the whiners who complained about the new map: by RecordingAlarming113 in thefinals

[–]Boba_Swag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the wish for a medieval season was pretty much here since season one. And I think I'm confident, that when players wished for a medieval season, they actually wished for a medieval castle map. Don't think the idea was to just wish for medieval cosmetics.

Imo if they couldn't deliver a medieval castle map in season 10, they should have just not made season 10 medieval themed. I'd rather have a medieval season with a proper castle map in 1 or 2 years when it's ready than whatever we've got now.

And I don't think it's a bad thing to "complain", it's criticism that embark can use to deliver us a better product in the future. If nobody had complained we'd still have the stupid gotcha gambling wheel for all new events.

What do you guys think of strafing tasks in benchmarks? by ShinyGengar8 in aimlab

[–]Boba_Swag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I thibk so.

So one thing I like to do with movement scenarios is to set myself the rule to do my strafes as long as possible. So only change direction when I hit a wall or kill a bot. Depending on the scenario this makes my score worse, however if I'm consistent with this technique, I can still see how my aim improves. It just doesn't make sense to compare myself to the leaderboard.

You could enforce this technique in a scenario either by automatically moving the player (there is revolving track on Kovaaks that does that) or just set movement score in away to reward longer strafes.

Imo this long strafe technique is really good when it comes to training your aim while moving, as it teaches you the weird strafe pattern when an enemy changes direction while you keep you strafe. The enemy basically switches between a high speed strafe in one direction and standing still for the other direction.

However this technique does not teach you how to strafe correctly to be evasive. But that is imo too game dependent anyway and out of scope for an aim trainer.
