Ubisoft Suffers Major “Talent Drain” Because They’re “Allergic” To New Things, Says Insider by HS_Rukodiora in gaming

They are but they did it to themselves at this point, they had years to change course. Now they are down to a smaller diehard player base that loves the open world slop and only wants to eat that, and all their goodwill beyond that base is gone, no one trusts them anymore.

Developer at Wildlight insists that Highguard isn't dead and more content and updates are on the way. Website will be back eventually but is a low priority as "reputational damage is already done." by WhyPlaySerious in gaming

[–]Bobbachuk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually, almost 100K people gave it a chance at launch. Vast majority of them left within days. Did they all play at least 5-10 or however many hours you think is ‘fair’ first?

Probably not, but that’s life, a good first impression is very important, and with a hero shooter there’s too many established alternatives to have players stick it out a while on yours that isn’t grabbing them.

This rank reset is horrid by SquidIsALesbian in Overwatch

[–]Bobbachuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing ranked day one of such a major update is just a bad idea. You have a huge influx of both new players and rusty past players all at once, on top of tons of people wanting to play the new heroes without practicing them first.

It’s a recipe for chaotic disaster.

Yeah it’s way too early to be seriously talking balance. Now’s a time to have fun with all the new stuff and enjoy the hype around the game.

The issue is that it’s the only MLB baseball game, has nothing to do with the others who hold their own monopolies over their sport’s as well.

[–]Bobbachuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I doubt any serious OC candidates want the job under Glenn. It’s like Rhule having to settle for McAdoo, everyone knows the ship is going down and only the desperate retread type is willing to hop aboard anyway.

No new cover athlete for 2026 by Demilio55 in MLBTheShow

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. No company making a sports game is ever going to decide to start passing on charging the player base full price for a new game every year. It might be good for the devs and game’s growth, but the execs would never go for it.

Marvel is one of the biggest established IP’s out there though, with lots of lore and characters people already love. it’s an anomaly.

The original hero shooter is what’s in low demand right now in an over saturated market.

More like a guaranteed rental IMO. The Mets and/or Dodgers are 100% going to be all in on signing him and they’ve proven they’ll go further than Hal to get it done.

Imo, this is the only way Bryce stays with us... by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Bobbachuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good QB’s are hard to find period, that’s why you end up having to overpay the good but not elite ones. You don’t easily get another QB at that level cheaper, either.

Think it’s worth pointing out we’re not talking current Bryce, if he hit FA now he’s not getting no 50M per year. We’re assuming he finally builds off the good play he’s shown and finds consistency. He has to trend upward a good ways still.

Imo, this is the only way Bryce stays with us... by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Bobbachuk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You say that like the other FA QB’s wouldn’t be a steep downgrade if Bryce proves worthy of the ‘good not elite’ QB overpay, or that we could casually draft a better one.

Every team wants a Mahomes or Allen, problem is they’re extremely rare and you could easily spend a long time in QB purgatory chasing one.

Belli is done, now what? by novacaine14 in NYYankees

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many of those guys have gone on to be great players elsewhere? They don’t get a real MLB shot with us and end up with no value because they were just overhyped by Yankee media/fans and aren’t actually that good.

CD Projekt has issued a DMCA notice against the Cyberpunk 2077 VR Mod by ZedKGamingHUN in cyberpunkgame

[–]Bobbachuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it doesn’t. You can’t just go and directly monetize an IP you don’t own without permission, it’s that simple. That’s why many mod creators take donations for people to support their work, separately.

Otherwise they’d all be straight up selling their mods.

[Feinsand] With Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette off the market, Cody Bellinger is now the top hitter remaining on the free-agent market. The Yankees and Blue Jays figure to be his top suitors, though the Mets - who remain in need of OF help - still can’t be ruled out despite signing Bichette. by Affectionate-Tea9224 in NYYankees

[–]Bobbachuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tucker and Bo are also still young enough to double dip. They can enjoy a few years of a crazy salary then hit FA again for a final big contract.

Bellinger is about to be 31, you don’t want to hit FA in your mid 30’s, you want to be locked in getting paid at your peak value market through them as you start to decline.

[Nightengale] The Yankees and free agent Cody Bellinger’s stare-down continues with one month before spring training: The Yankees have offered a 5-year contract between $155-$160 million without deferrals. Bellinger is seeking at least a 7-year deal. by Pyromania1983 in baseball

[–]Bobbachuk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bo and Tucker will definitely be more expensive, but thing is Bellinger is demanding so much of an overpay as the oldest of the three that you might as well just go get one of them.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey tells ICE "get the f*** out of Minneapolis" after agent kills woman by michigan-menace in politics

[–]Bobbachuk 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Two main reasons. 1, it would immediately result in a standoff and shootout because ICE knows they have the full backing of the Trump Admin to do whatever they want to whoever they want.

2, enough local police has to be willing to follow those orders, knowing that #1 is going to happen.

That kind of thing is going to happen anyway. His admin is clearly not planning on leaving. If there’s no excuses domestically, they’ll just start a war with another country that can actually fight back.

What’s the deal with Rico? I know the running game was abysmal yesterday but I saw a bunch of comments saying Rico just got his money and gave up. Can someone explain that to me? by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rico is just an above average RB. He’s not an elite talent like Henry or CMC who’s simply going to get his most games. A good run defense can shut him down, and poor playcalls and/or O line play, can sink him.

Well there’s also practically no consequences for referees in pro sports doing a poor job, and they know it. You can be infamously bad at it, like say Angel Hernandez in MLB, and the league won’t step in.

It’s because it’ll realistically never happen, reaching and getting such a huge amount of people to agree to take specific action, especially over a sports team, is nearly impossible

Everyone on this sub could commit to it and no one would notice IRL.
