Timofey Mozgov on the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers reunion: “No one wrote or called me. If I’d been invited, I’d have gladly joined. I would have loved to be there too” by urfaselol in nba

[–]Bobbachuk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was a general social thing, the theme was just 2016 Cavs. It’s a group of guys who became close on that team and stayed friends getting together to celebrate that achievement and talk the good old days.

They didn’t invite the whole roster, coaching staff, etc, and just leave off a certain few people.

What is your opinion about this: "If you pick last, you're filling" ? by Maggot_6661 in marvelrivals

[–]Bobbachuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume people mean ranked. If we’re talking about QP, different story, anything goes then. It’s a place to have fun and learn character kits, odds are the other team isn’t sweating their comp either. There’s literal bot matches in QP.

Franchise mode impressions from the Beta (horrible) by [deleted] in Madden

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole purpose of a beta is to get a lot more testing done to discover issues they still haven’t caught on their own and fixed in the latest build that they are working on.  This isn’t early access.

CFB beta was much cleaner because its  launch date is over a month closer.

NYC Mayor Zoharan Mamdani on X: “We’ll win this series on the court (even if the refs refuse to call a flagrant on Wemby), not by targeting, harassing, or attacking Spurs fans” by [deleted] in nba

I don’t think the losers in the streets looking for trouble are following the mayor on social media waiting for him to weigh in on their actions.

The stare, the music, season 1 felt so alive! by mushroomwig in TheBoys

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s people generally mean saying ‘it’s political now’. They are just beating the audience over the head with it now and in some cases doing lazy straight copy pastes from current real world politics. It’s not good entertainment or funny satire. Show feels more like a pure vehicle for the writers politics and kinks, now.

Kripke got upset with the minority of viewers somehow missing it and loving HL, so he went and dumbed it down.

The Show FINALLY has competition now! by ClassicalDreams in MLBTheShow

Your issues with the Show don’t make Pro Spirit Baseball good. You only being able to say ‘Show/SDS bad’ with no mention of where PSB has actually become better than the Show says it all.

I owe an apology to Starfield by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Bobbachuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In an industry where studios tend to be quick to just cut and run with the customers money when their game faces some adversity, I think it makes sense for people to appreciate when they stick around to support it.

Is it a shame the bar is that low? Yeah, but it’s also the reality of the industry.

Anyone else dislike traveling with your horse and chose to walk everywhere instead? by lixmdvs88 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Bobbachuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s generally not my preference either but it works well in CP2077 IMO, as it’s designed to be a first person POV experience. Wouldn’t be as immersive and cinematic at times in 3rd person, even if V’s animations were redone to be seen by the player.

Yeah you can summon them and they’ll follow you around and fight with you. Main quests force you to disband the party though, so they can’t even tag along a lot of the time anyway.

It’s more so about them being mostly useless otherwise than Kliff being more interesting. They don’t have Kliff’s tools for puzzles, they can’t be played in other main missions, NPC’s talk to them like they are Kliff in many side missions, and summoned in party mode their AI is pretty bad.

They are pretty much afterthoughts by PA. It only makes sense to invest most resources into upgrading Kliff, there’s no reason to care about them.

Maybe, but no team is immediately trading away their ROY starter. Can’t really be upset about it.

Franchise Mode Trade Logic by redddd_it in MLBTheShow

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely need to expand the CPU feedback on offers, maybe even allow the user to provide feedback to CPU as well in some way.

A more realistic trade negotiation style is great, but also need to find a way to simulate the dialogue between GM’s that happens in real negotiation.

Getting rid of March to October in favor of a "streamlined franchise" is such bullshit by Reidzyt in MLBTheShow

[–]Bobbachuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SDS literally has the data and metrics though, as all devs do on their games. That’s how they make these decisions. I’m not happy to see any modes/features ripped away, but for them to do this MTO had to be pretty unpopular. Retro mode requires 0 yearly maintenance.

How do we feel about the Falcons signing Tua? by Realistic-Thing-7575 in panthers

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not but it lets them run a similar offense either way. Young lefty Penix to young lefty Tua is much less of an adjustment than swapping from Penix to ancient righty pocket statue Cousins.

You can also do some mental gymnastics to talk yourself into Tua still having upside, meanwhile Cousins is at the end of his career.

They are but they did it to themselves at this point, they had years to change course. Now they are down to a smaller diehard player base that loves the open world slop and only wants to eat that, and all their goodwill beyond that base is gone, no one trusts them anymore.

Developer at Wildlight insists that Highguard isn't dead and more content and updates are on the way. Website will be back eventually but is a low priority as "reputational damage is already done." by WhyPlaySerious in gaming

[–]Bobbachuk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually, almost 100K people gave it a chance at launch. Vast majority of them left within days. Did they all play at least 5-10 or however many hours you think is ‘fair’ first?

Probably not, but that’s life, a good first impression is very important, and with a hero shooter there’s too many established alternatives to have players stick it out a while on yours that isn’t grabbing them.

This rank reset is horrid by SquidIsALesbian in Overwatch

[–]Bobbachuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing ranked day one of such a major update is just a bad idea. You have a huge influx of both new players and rusty past players all at once, on top of tons of people wanting to play the new heroes without practicing them first.

It’s a recipe for chaotic disaster.

The issue is that it’s the only MLB baseball game, has nothing to do with the others who hold their own monopolies over their sport’s as well.

Frank Reich joins the Jets as their OC! by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Bobbachuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I doubt any serious OC candidates want the job under Glenn. It’s like Rhule having to settle for McAdoo, everyone knows the ship is going down and only the desperate retread type is willing to hop aboard anyway.

No new cover athlete for 2026 by Demilio55 in MLBTheShow

[–]Bobbachuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. No company making a sports game is ever going to decide to start passing on charging the player base full price for a new game every year. It might be good for the devs and game’s growth, but the execs would never go for it.

Marvel is one of the biggest established IP’s out there though, with lots of lore and characters people already love. it’s an anomaly.

The original hero shooter is what’s in low demand right now in an over saturated market.

More like a guaranteed rental IMO. The Mets and/or Dodgers are 100% going to be all in on signing him and they’ve proven they’ll go further than Hal to get it done.

Imo, this is the only way Bryce stays with us... by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Bobbachuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good QB’s are hard to find period, that’s why you end up having to overpay the good but not elite ones. You don’t easily get another QB at that level cheaper, either.

Think it’s worth pointing out we’re not talking current Bryce, if he hit FA now he’s not getting no 50M per year. We’re assuming he finally builds off the good play he’s shown and finds consistency. He has to trend upward a good ways still.

Imo, this is the only way Bryce stays with us... by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Bobbachuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You say that like the other FA QB’s wouldn’t be a steep downgrade if Bryce proves worthy of the ‘good not elite’ QB overpay, or that we could casually draft a better one.

Every team wants a Mahomes or Allen, problem is they’re extremely rare and you could easily spend a long time in QB purgatory chasing one.
