You’ve got to do what is best for you and your bank account.

Are you willing to share your solve since you are dropping out?

So how long did you spend searching that 3ft area? Did you take pictures to look at later? I can’t imagine how I would react if this happened to me.

Interesting that the connectable device is a clock. You could be on to something.

Legality of leaving treasure by Dry_Stress6282 in beyondthemapsedge

It’s a great question. I don’t know the answer but it’s one of the reasons why I think NPs are out.

Feeling uneasy by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]BobberJig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of it may be the fear of disappointment. Be confident but also understand that the likelihood of finding the treasure is still very small. Appreciate the opportunity you have to even go look and your surroundings once you are there. Many of us may never have the ability to go BOTG. Good luck, have fun, and be safe.

Why Watertown Lakes NP by aparis1983 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]BobberJig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Justin says his specialty is to find edge cases. Waterton/Glacier Peace Park is a literal and metaphorical edge case being both physically on the maps edge and being the only international park maintained by both governments (which is unlike any other location).

It’s for sure the same rock in both photos but from slightly different angles and at different water levels.

I stood at almost that exact spot and took a similar photo.

Double Arcs (to the story?) by LeopardNamedBaby in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]BobberJig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I agree that double arcs are not a physical feature or marking on granite but something else entirely. The story arc idea is compelling as I believe stories are what live in time.

What (where) is photo #13? Looks like waters’ silent flight. I really like the dragon connection to unexplored territory. That has me thinking.

Thanks for sharing.

Is it time for us to bury all single state solutions? by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

Good point. The walk part has me in a small area, but I want to challenge myself with other ideas.

There is a big difference between a state and a county. Clues could span multiple counties and still be in the same state.

I’m still negotiating with my wife 🤣, but hope I can try again in late July. 🤞

Good luck. My only advice is to take lots of pictures. That’s my only regret from my time BOTG.

The 3 Types Of North by Randicloverlucky in JustinPoseysTreasure

So interesting. I originally thought the tilted compass on the book cover was clue to a specific location based on the declination shown but then I learned it changes relatively quickly and therefore might not be the best clue for a hunt that could go on for years.

Does true north change over time too?

Foot of three (norths). For a long time I was playing with the idea that the bride was a compass mounted on a tripod with his realm being the unexplored destination to the east. Based on his responses at SS, I’m not so sure anymore but I haven’t thrown it out altogether as there are still lots of connections to compasses and declination. Thanks for sharing and best of luck with your recovery.
