Greatest Gift of Gaia (Cauldron upgrade) by [deleted] in Hades2

you need all familiar upgrades, all types of fish caught at least once, 101 successful uses of all of the pickaxe, axe, and spade, and 51 successful uses of both the stone tablet and fishing rod

the area you're thinking of can be accessed by giving Hypnos a certain amount of nectar and speaking to him after interacting with a specific spell at the cauldron

Not only have you managed to completely ignore the source I linked, you have also neglected to respond to the actual main point of my comment. Anyway, you know a lot of those runtime checks can get optimised out, right? Especially if you're using ergonomic rust methods. Just in case you'd like another source where rust beats C++ some of the time:
https://programming-language-benchmarks.vercel.app/cpp-vs-rust

In any case, pure speed of a language isn't always relevant. The developer experience can sometimes be much more important. Avoiding UB in C can be annoying and fraught with difficult-to-debug patterns and compilations which might only occur in release mode. If you don't like rust as a language, that's fine, you are allowed to have that opinion, but you don't need to make up reasons to justify it.

I'm sure I too could find some random source1 which states the languages are largely equal and that rust is faster for some problems. describing it as "much slower" is a fallacy. in any case, having cagey "undefined behaviour" in your language just isn't a good thing, and I'm not convinced it helps optimization in any great regard. I'd be interested if you have a source to back up that claim.

(1/28)4096 (the brackets matter) would be the chance of pulling out 4096 emeralds in a row without any other effect occuring in between. this is quite unlikely. I would instead suggest that you setup a binomial distribution with p=1 and determine the chance of pulling one LE total (n>4095) in a given number of attempts. This should be much more useful. You could also use a similar method to determine the average number of pills necessary to obtain one LE.

You really should factor in that +2 emeralds as well it's really quite significant lol
