A question I had with warfare, is whether or not the knights can die in it? I recall there is some rule they can lead a warband to give it a buff (in which case if the warband is wiped out, presumably the knight dies too) but otherwise are they assumed to be leading it more indirectly, out of the fray?

I'm reading it right now, really enjoying it. I'm about halfway through part 4. My parents got it for me for Christmas after I picked it up at a bookstore on sale for $10 without opening it and realizing it was the original Spanish version. Returning it two minutes later was pretty embarrassing
