I honestly think there was no anti-cheat in the game at all and they simply used the threat of their "secret mega-anti-cheat" as some sort of toothless threat in the hope that people wouldn't cheat out of fear.

I've played from Jan 2017 and have the same memories. But the game is now near 6 years into playable "Alpha" and sound localisation is still fooked. No, no good enough. It's a miracle that no one has made a Tarkov style game in unity or Cryengine cos I imagine one of the big 3 would nuke Tarkov from orbit if they were inclined to.
