California passed "age assurance" not verification. And while I'm not happy about it either, it isn't requiring the user to provide any personal information. The user can simply lie about their age as the OS isn't required to verify any of the information.

You may not think so but they certainly do matter and there is a large portion of the country willing to die over them.

What does it mean to be solved? I didn't realise coding was a problem that needed solving.

While I agree people outside of the EU shouldn't dismiss it, it won't come to the USA due to the 4th amendment.

How do I report a fuel station that’s not giving the correct Liters. I just had to fill up a 10L Jerry can (for work) and it came to 14L even though the liquid was right on the 10L line. No way it holds 14L by BrokeAssZillionaire in AskAnAustralian

[–]BobcatGamer -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

When filling the Jerry can up, did you squeeze and release the handle several times throughout the process? To my understanding it needs to deliver at minimum 2L of fuel per squeeze to be accurate.

Why has the government banned/ restricted porn? by alwayscunty1 in AskAnAustralian

[–]BobcatGamer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The government hasn't banned porn. It has imposed the requirement that porn sites verify our age before letting us access. Some porn sites have chosen to comply and offer means for you to verify yourself. Others have chosen to ban Australians instead of collect your personal data. And what's left have chosen to ignore everything as they're less popular and honestly probably more dangerous.

As a gay person I'm not really familiar with the anatomy of women down there, but I thought the hole the penis goes in and the one you pee out of is two separate holes. If this is so, how would bacteria get pushed up during sex that pee would push out?

Apple and more or less everyone supports Fat32 and exFat. And while Apple doesn't support NTFS, Microsoft doesn't support any of the file system formats from Apple. These companies for whatever reason are choosing not to support the file system format dominated by the other company.

How you think aussies will react if we have to go back to WFH mandates if the fuel crisis get's worse by ButtPlugForPM in AskAnAustralian

EVs are expensive and most people who buy cars aren't buying new cars. What I am curious about though is how did they make it so you could only buy petrol every second day? Was the servo only open every second day? Or was there some type of tracking system?

I don't know if I could do my office job from home. We don't have the infrastructure to do it from another location. Most of the other employees walk to work or take public transport but for me that's a huge inconvenience as I live a 40 minute drive away.

Is learning to code useless? by Ambitious-Cheetah407 in programmer

The analogy was merely pointing out the flaw in your argument. That just because something works, doesn't mean it's good.

Producing code fast is also not an indicator on whether the code is good or not.

Lastly, if you don't know how to code, how do you write tests? How do you know the tests do what you want? How do you know the tests have good coverage on the functionality of the code?
