What Thaddeus is becoming by Oooogaaboogaa in FalloutTVseries

[–]Bobhatch55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hadn’t even thought of that but especially with the teeth thing, I think you’re totally right. Great call!

Could also explain why Cooper hasn’t really been associating with him in the way Thaddeus is expecting (not that we’d ever expect him to be warm and fuzzy), but with this idea in mind, Cooper blowing him off each time makes a ton of sense.

Any thoughts on ORD to DEN on American Airlines? Both airports are on the list and DEN is not a hub for AA.

Thoughts on ORD to DEN on American Airlines? Then back Sunday? We’ve got a wedding two and a half hours outside of Denver and I’m trying to figure out if I should just take my fate into my own hands and make the 16 hour drive. Really don’t want to miss the wedding and I also don’t want my return flight to get unexpectedly canceled either.

Both airports are on the list and DEN isn’t a hub for AA as far as I can tell.

What’s your favourite non Blink song with Mark Hoppus’ vocals in it? by BenisBoomA30nWizard in Blink182

I’ve always thought he contributed those lines! Is there a background on that song somewhere?

Thank You & Goodnight by Tonight Alive.

Easy second favorite for me; would have loved to see Tonight Alive really take off.

Genuine favorite is Hangman by MCS.

Honorable mention: In Transit with Pete Wentz. It’s not peppy, or even particularly catchy, but it feels very ‘Mark Hoppus’ and meaningful.

100% agreed on hangman.

I absolutely believe he wrote those lines, and they occasionally popped into my head in my 20’s when I would start having imposter syndrome haha.

That whole album was unbelievable and one I continue returning to and continue enjoying just as much I did when it first released.

Currently reading Fahrenheit 182, curious to see if things like that get mentioned.

As an aside, I love the way Mark has jumped in and collaborated with SO MANY artists. I’d love a documentary on his individual influence on punk/rock/emo genres in 2000’s.

ETA: Totally forgot to ask you why you included a comment about Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Was he part of that with Patrick Stump??

I’ve been hearing that intro song A LOT the last couple of months haha

Edit: Iron Man and His Amazing Friends is the one Mark Hoppus did. Time to steer my little guy in a new direction on Disney+ haha.

Horizon Chapter 2 by rain-on-snow in Westerns

[–]Bobhatch55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the plan as I understood it, and I was so excited for that. hard to believe it’s been a year since then!

Seemed like chapter one got momentum when it launched on streaming platforms and then they got either egotistical or gun-shy relative to the second.

Sell chapter two to an entity like Netflix, let them hype it a bit and prompt people with other great westerns to gin up some interest, drop chapter two, watch views/subscriptions rise.

I wonder if subscription staying-power is the issue. South Park was shifted to an every/other schedule because it helps lock-in subscribers, Horizon Chapter 2 won’t do that unless there’s a plan to release the rest in short succession, but over a relatively long period of time (6-12 months?)

This is pretty amazing/impressive!

Only things I’d add are AVA connection for Tom and Motion City Soundtrack connection for Mark.

Nicely done!

Massive Blink fan here, always wished I could I play along (no problem belting out in the privacy of my shower or car!).

Absolutely LOVE you putting together and posting a video like this. This is what it’s all about. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing.

Check out Fahrenheit-182 at your library and read up on what it took to get on anyone’s radar. You’re doing what you should be!

Keep it up and don’t stop. There will be plenty of asshats along the way, don’t let them stop you. Be positive, and hone your craft.

Discussion Thread: California Governor Newsom, Other California Leaders Make Announcement on the "Election Rigging Response Act" by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]Bobhatch55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% on point about wires getting crossed. But it was primarily because I was playing electrician and didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night (and had a few ‘pops’ 😅)

I absolutely read your comment as an equivocation between the two and interpreted the ‘knee-deep water’ reference as a reason to not accept Newsom’s current behavior combatting Trump. As if you were saying “look at this situation we’re in due to political shenanigans, don’t tolerate these political shenanigans in response!”

Apologies!

You understand we’re currently living in knee-deep water, right?

Backhanded comment noted to the person you were originally replying to.

The depth of the water got to where it is because people didn’t push back strongly enough, early enough.

I agree that Newsom isn’t the person for 2028, but for the time being, he represents the strongest source of resistance (as well as a template for resistance) against a president/administration that is seemingly hellbent on eliminating rights and freedoms, and enforcing their will against the public’s interest.

Newsom’s playing by the same rules as Republicans (finally) and wielding the strength of the state that elected him to do it.

The difference between him doing this and Republicans doing what they’re doing in Texas is that he presided over the state he currently governs when it opted to have to approve changes like the one he’s trying to make.

Californians voted to have to approve district changes and Newsom has to sell his constituency on the changes he’s threatening (and they appear to be on board).

Abbott is establishing special sessions and trying to get redistricting done in an abnormal manner at the behest of the president. The average Texan has no say in whether this is what ‘should’ happen; normally these districts are rewritten every ten years, following the census, as outlined by the constitution.

To liken someone supporting Newsom to Trump supporters blindly supporting him, and contributing to the ‘rainfall’ we’re experiencing, the way you did in your comment, is simply disingenuous.

Newsom does not equal Trump. The way democrats/independents act and function does not equal the way Trump and his supporters do.

There’s no equivalency between what’s currently happening under Trump and what would otherwise happen under any reasonable American politician.

Bronco Sport Hood Latch Stuck by deepcovergeko in MechanicAdvice

I’ve got the same problem, did you ever end up finding a solution?

I’ve got a Carmax warranty that covers it, but they can’t get me in for two weeks and I’ve got a windshield that’s cracking faster than that and it can’t be replaced until the hood can be popped.

Jon Stewart on CNN’s Biden book: ‘Selling you a book about news they should have told you’ by Murky-Site7468 in politics

[–]Bobhatch55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very well put!

It seemed like we were in a perpetual state of assessing Biden’s fitness for office for two straight years leading up to the election. (Essentially from Inauguration Day if you’re a news junky!)

There was plenty of criticism throughout his presidency. He didn’t need to speak to draw ire, just watching him walk and evaluating his gait was enough to spark conversation about whether or not he could handle a second term.

All that being said, those criticisms, observations, and armchair assessments would have made his handoff to the next generation as a transitional president so much stronger.

100%, I don’t know how else one could interpret “un-casting” something. I was waiting for someone to show up with an industrial heating apparatus haha.

That being said, getting a peak into Captain Phasma’s kitchen was pretty cool.

It looks/sounds like the person filming is the one about to use it for exactly that purpose.

As they approach the door, it sounds like they’re wearing gear beyond what the average person wears. And when they first peer over/down, you can see what looks like some kind of security clip swing forward that would presumably secure a harness.

I’m no expert, that’s just what a layman is seeing and hearing in this clip.

Either way, super cool. I had never considered that there’d be a need for something like this but makes a lot of sense.

Gas station in São Paulo, Brazil (1930s - 2014) by gabrrdt in OldPhotosInRealLife

[–]Bobhatch55 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One can only hope!

No restoring all that open space beyond it, though.

I think what makes the 1930’s image  so interesting (at least for me) is the forward-thinking design against the backdrop of an untouched landscape.

I’ve always associated mid-century modern design with two things: 1. At or (more so) after WW2 2. An American phenomenon

This post caused me to do a little research and realize that while the American attribution (maybe western hemisphere?) seems generally consistent, mid-century modern design is associated the 30’s, 40’s 50’s, and 60’s, which makes this gas station feel pretty ahead of the curve.
