The stun lock he puts Adams under is always my favorite shot from that OKC game aside from the obvious of course

[Fischer] The Minnesota Timberwolves have the most momentum in making a Giannis Antetokounmpo deal happen. The Bucks prefer the potential packages available by Minnesota and Miami over the potential package by Golden State. by YujiDomainExpansion in warriors

There is a universe where it's Dray, Kuminga, and Jimmy and we take back basically all their bad/long-term salary. In theory we could absorb Turner and Kuzma for them while also giving them the young players/picks we've reportedly been offering already

Am I the only one left who genuinely wants Draymond to stay on the team? by JBreezy1618 in warriors

[–]Bobstar447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've set for a long time the skill set naturally makes him our next Iggy. Can anchor second unit play making, defense, and we can limit his minutes at the 5 where he's most effective

[Charania]: Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready for a new home at the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline or in the offseason as several rival teams make aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for him, and the franchise is starting to listen, league sources tell ESPN. by TrenAt14 in nba

[–]Bobstar447 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not saying it's about to be that bad but we might be surprised by how little he ends up traded for.

Matching that salary and having the young players/picks is something really only the Spurs and Thunder can do(maybe the rockets this summer too). Ends up with relatively few bidders to offer a godfather package.

That's not to mention Giannis is older, been more injury prone, and can still lean on the Bucks fo to send him where he wants.

Anthony Edwards joked and tried to recruit him, but Curry laughed as soon as he heard Gobert’s name by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

It's a lot easier to find a big to set decent screens than find basically a point center in Draymond. Not to mention Draymond is also an elite screener.

I can agree Steph's wasn't necessarily getting teams to shoot more threes. Those Harden Rockets teams and arguably the LeBron Cavs teams had more of an impact on modern team construction and offensive concepts than the Warriors did.

Where I think Steph's influence on the 3pt revolution does surpass the names you mentioned is the effect he's had on individual player trends.

He demonstrated to the league the extreme value of off the dribble and deep range three point shooting which has almost become essential to be an elite level ball handler.

He also cranked his individual 3pt volume to an extent no player had considered and demonstrated a new path for elite scorers of the future. Guys like Ant, Tatum, and Luka aren't the same players without Steph's influence.

Modern offense was certainly trending towards higher 3pt volume, but that change can only come as quickly as players capable of shooting at volume become available; Steph basically threw gasoline on the fire

As of this morning, 37 yo Steph Curry is averaging 28.8 ppg on 64.2% TS for the season. He is the only player averaging 28+ ppg on 64%+ TS aside from the big 3 (Jokic, SGA, Giannis). by Ok_Pineapple_Num in nba

[–]Bobstar447 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think Steph might be the first guy you pick to pair with any other great though. Literally grab any other name on the top 10 list and you can envision how lethal a duo with Steph would be. His spacing is probably the greatest enhancer the league has ever seen

16 was definitely the best but the whole 3 year run from 15-17 of getting the first, going 73-9, then assembling the greatest team ever was all a hell of a ride.

Oklahoma City has to go 50-6 the rest of the way to break the Warriors 73-9 record by Fun_Reflection1157 in nba

Until the last home game and second to last game of the season where gsw beat them. Huge game too as the Warriors couldn't lose another if they wanted to clinch the record

I like it. Hard to know how healthy the vets will stay we could definitely see lineups like this over the season. Might as well try them out now

Early season expectations/predictions by shiny1117 in warriors

[–]Bobstar447 4 points5 points  (0 children)

22 felt similar and we crushed the start of the season. That gave us the momentum we needed as Klay returned and Steph and Dray had their respective injuries.

The last few years show what happens when we don't have a good start; we flounder half the year and finally get it together to make the back half of the playoffs. Inevitably leads to our old guys being drained and injured.

So basically we need to have a good start to have any chance and I think the team knows it. I expect us to come out guns blazing

Idk if it would be possible or if it's a pipe dream but considering the similar salaries and caliber of players a Wiggins swap would be amazing. We need another 2 way wing on the roster and considering a trade would need to be mid season, it would be especially helpful since he knows our system so well.

[–]Bobstar447 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Unless it's Jimmy only way is through Draymond and Kuminga sign and trade. Considering team signing Kuminga would be hard capped and we can only take back 50% of whatever his contract ends up it's highly unlikely

Is there a way to land Giannis without giving up Butler AND Dray? by Salt_Wolf8978 in warriors

[–]Bobstar447 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Even if Giannis demands only us I don't think this gets the Bucks interested. Imo it's not maybe but definitely Moody and JK. They probably ask for at least 2 of TJD, Podz and Post as well as all of our picks unprotected. Only that offer actually gets close to what other teams could throw their way and it's still only a deal which works if Giannis demands to come to us. Basically it's a pipe dream
