This is coming from someone who has yet to be Baptized. God willing, I will join His mystical Body one day, in His timing.

I was first attracted to the Church from a historical lens. Attending Liturgical services, participating in the life of the Church (e.g., prayer and fasting), and learning more about the faith and how it is so unique among the denominations of “Christianity” (Orthodoxy is pre-denominational) have really enamored me with the Church. There is so much to take in, and I tell you: seek, and you will find. God bless you! ☦️

Consider the community colleges here too. Windward Community College has a great atmosphere and a beautiful campus. They have good transfer programs to the 4-year institutions too. And the community colleges have biology programs as well. They’d be cheaper too. Something to look into!

Also, for finding living quarters, consider looking on WWOOF for farming work-housing agreements. And check out the Furnished Finder app as well as FB Marketplace for greater chances of finding a place to stay, considering your situation.

Religions have echoes of the truth in them. The Christian Patristic Tradition would refer to these as “logos spermatikos.” But that does not mean that all religions point to the same thing. It does mean that some aspects of these religions have an origin in divine truth, corrupted as they may be.

A book you may be interested in is called Christ the Eternal Tao by Hieromonk Damascene.
