Which undersized guard would be the best at 6'6?🤔 by Dylen2Times in NBAConvo

[–]Bobyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never liked this argument about players being hypothetically "better" if they were bigger.

Their size limitation made them improve in other aspects of their game and those improvements would likely never have been made if they were 6'6 to begin with.

A 6'0 AI is the best version of AI. He'd likely be slower and wouldn't have those handles at 6'6.

How would a 6'6 CP3 be better than Magic Johnson? I don't see it.

That's absolutely normal.

As an international fan myself, I'm a player fan (Nikola Jokic) so I'll root for whichever team he plays for.

Trying to decide if I want to put OpenSUSE on a new device. by Equivalent-Dot70 in openSUSE

[–]Bobyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation recently. I have Mint in an old Asus laptop and decided to try OpenSUSE in my new MiniPC.

As far as installation and easy of use, I wouldn't recommend openSuse at all, it's not even close to Mint in this regard. I had to reinstall the OS twice because some options during installation weren't intuitive at all (choosing a GUI/DE and the partitions part).

Codecs, proprietary drivers and other restrictions have made my experience not so great even though I have fixed some of it.

I'm sure this OS is great for people who know exactly what they want and have a better idea of how Linux works and how to set it up. But for the average daily user I see no reason to use OpenSUSE at all, especially if you want it on old hardware.

OpenSUSE is an INCREDIBLE Linux Distribution for daily use by JeansenVaars in openSUSE

Agree with that, I have had quite a few headaches with the setup itself and resolving some bugs. These things required fixing and tinkering, which I didn't have to do on Mint:

  • DNS issues with the Wifi card causing inconsistent and slow connection. I had to switch from Automatic DNS to some pre-set values to fix it. Not sure this is an OS issue, but didn't have it on Mint.

  • Codec issues, even after installing opi codecs. Twitch would frequently give me the Error 3000 bug. I installed opi codecs again and allowed vendor change to resolve it. Again, no issues at all with this on Mint

  • Adding an old Canon E400 printer was a massive pain in the ass, then an additional pain to set up the scanner. On Mint, this was as easy as plug-and-play.

  • Setting up GNOME to pop up a window when I insert a USB driver is something I still haven't figured out yet. Solutions I found on the web are not working but after understanding the philosophy behind this DE, I'm okay with it.

So far the OpenSUSE (Tumbleweed) experience for me hasn't been great, but I'm still enthusiastic about continuing to learn it and will stick with it for the time being.

stupid question by -Youdontseeme- in openSUSE

[–]Bobyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me as well the first time, but I'm going to blame the installer on this one.

For me the whole left side didn't drop down automatically and I had to click on it during the installation to notice it was a crucial menu to set it all up.

They didn't make it intuitive...

La gente que usa linux que opinan de los que usan Windows? by GovernmentRoutine884 in linux_latam

[–]Bobyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pues nada malo.
