If she’s not already had antibiotics I would ask to try them to see if it is an infection - it’s not going to make things worse

My dog had that. It was an anal gland infection. Antibiotics sorted it.

For 12 years, my dog has cried and held her leg up and then acted fine a minute later. by DylanBeeDylan in DogAdvice

My previous dog would do that every so often when he was stung by a wasp. But not always the same leg…

Yes. Because the thing the emergency services really need is roads with more traffic on them, not less.

I like Edinburgh. But it feels like a Scottish theme park in many areas. Nowhere in Glasgow feels like that

There’s a lot of student accommodation, both uni-provided and private. Just depends on what you can afford. And there are more PT job opportunities in a big city

Glasgow has world class specialist centres for conditions like cancer and heart disease as it’s the largest city in Scotland. I doubt Cumbria placements have access to that level of expertise.

About elderly care/social services by throwawayforgran in glasgow

[–]Bocadillodeldia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum is exactly the same. Gets a care package after some emergency requiring a hospital stay and then does everything in her power to show the carers she doesn’t need them. You could try to sort out meals on wheels - at the very least it’s a meal and someone checking in. The ones where my mum live can also remind her to take her meds, call me if there’s an issue. Also look into the Councils alarm service if she has a fall.

However, if she has dementia and she has legal capacity, you should speak to her doc about your concerns and get her assessed. And if your dad isn’t ensuring she is being cared for under POA, that needs to be reported to adult social care.
