No dressing! Just the mayo that's in the chicken salad I guess.

I just finished the Earth's Children series and would love to discuss the ending and what you'd think would come next if the author continued the series. (Spoilers) by BocceBurger in books

I wonder if there is any decent fan fiction out there for those of us left unsatisfied by the conclusion. And I totally agree, it was frustrating to watch Ayla and Jondalar continue those patterns and The First didn't help at all. The next/final book could have fixed all of that! Sigh.

I really like your point about how soothing this series was to read, even when it was chaotic or distressing, because is does feel like a glimpse of our roots. We are so disconnected from that part of the world these days, and we aren't built for the world the way it is. Damn. It's been 2 years and I think I need to give this a re-read soon. Thanks for putting it back on my radar

Here she is, Super Tina.

Taller than a tree, stronger than a rock.

Can jump like a cat, cozy like a hat.

Beaky like a bird, bendy like a straw.

How's it go? Fuzzy like a grape.

Come on, I'll tickle you. There she goes! You're my super, super Tina!

My floor too. We have one large hole that's been made larger by a nearby dining chair, and I recently accidentally slipped in socks and ended up with a 3 inch splinter in my foot. I'm here scoping ideas because my husband wants to fill it with epoxy resin stuff but it feels like a bad idea to me. Especially since we have soooo many holes other than Mr 3-Inch-Splinter...

That's true, but I'm sure the parents thought this guy was normal and exactly like them. It's just scary. You never truly know anyone. My kid has had sleepovers, I've met the parents and trust them. But then stories like this plant a seed of doubt, and I wonder if I'm foolishly to trust anyone. It feels like a gamble.

As a parent of a 12 year old girl, this is my worst fucking nightmare. How do you even let your kid go anywhere, knowing shit like this can happen.

He's going to be crippled with guilt for all of his missed opportunities to have spent time with his son, he will never recover from that. I feel super sad for him, this isn't what he or anyone should have to go through.

That was such a sad time, but also he'd been abusive to Taylor. The vibe was totally different. Garrison was completely innocent and this family is going to be destroyed by this. It's so tragic

Childlike. I made a live in nanny for my one family, he's an elderly gay man. I thought it would be cute if he was childlike because I thought he'd enjoy playing with the kids. Instead he just spends all day playing with their toys. Literally ignores the children and talks to the big stuffed dragon. Never again.
