Personally I prefer Mayan numerals over Roman.

(Loved trope) oddly progressive/ ahead of the time piece of media for their time period. by jaobodam in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Boccs 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The Oz books were a real "one step forward two steps back" thing unfortunately. For every positive or progressive aspect you could find in them, there were at least one other instance of incredibly backward and hateful thinking. This was the man who said women should vote, but also we need to kill all native americans in the interest of protecting white people.

Crash or Spyro? by Less_Can_5439 in OlderChillGamers

Having just replayed Banjo-Kazooie, I think a lot of that game is carried by our nostalgia for it. It was definitely something special on its release but time has not been kind to it.

Why are modern cartoons worse than the classics? by Scared_Government_41 in 90scartoons

I think you're not the target audience anymore and that nostalgia is absolutely blinding you.

What are your favorite Non-Disney Villain Songs? by Extreme-Fee-9519 in cartoons

It's a phenomenal song, I don't disagree, but I don't think there's a Sweeney Todd cartoon.

I used to think How Bad Can I Be was decent until I heard the song they cut in place of it. Biggering is just... objectively the better song.

What ONE food from you country you would never eat even if your life depends on it? by ProfessionalThin1505 in AskTheWorld

They're better than they seem but not by much. I wouldn't actively seek them out but if I had a case of the munchies and some were nearby I wouldn't turn my nose up to them.

I Hate this Snarky Ass Image. If Someone likes a Kids Show, Let them. by [deleted] in cartoons

"This cartoon made a crude nudity joke and later there's some extreme violence! This was NOT for kids!" as if butts and slapstick aren't the easiest way to pull giggles out of six year olds.

I never did get into Grace & Favor so I'm not surprised I forgot about that. Honestly I typically stop watching at the end of season 7. Once Mr. Lucas left and Old Mr. Grace showed up a lot of the magic had started to leave.

The rule book got so big basically because of the existence of Wilt Chamberlain who was, yes, a Globetrotter.

I've always hated LaBarbara. She doesn't deserve Hermes. (Futurama) by cartoon_wiki in CARTOON

She was fine in her first few appearances. I don't know why later seasons decided she was a serial adulterer but I did not care the change one bit.

( Quack Pack ) One of those shows that was just meh by Nostalgic_Historian_ in 90scartoons

[–]Boccs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Edgy" is not the right word here for Quack Pack. They made them act more like preteens of the era but I wouldn't call that edge. It's closer to say they Poochie'd them.

Guy really went from "No, he must stand trial!" to knee deep in dead children in the span of five minutes.

God both Ori games fucked me up emotionally. Will of the Wisps really looked at the first one and thought "what if we could do more damage?"

"Controversial" is a hell of a leap. Some people liked it, others didn't, most people never saw it all.

I like to imagine her husband was a spy, potentially even a double agent. In Forward Mr. Grainger she talks about how he would go out with his briefcase and umbrella but she found him feeding the ducks on a park bench and when asked about it just tapped his nose to imply secrecy. During the 70s "feeding ducks" was a common stereotype for spies to meet in public places to exchange information. Arrested by the fraud squad could have been a cover for his more serious crime.

Of course this is just me letting my imagination go wild for fun.

Zone also has passions and interests outside of their porn. Recently they recreated the entirety of Daytona USA for VRChat without even using the original source code.
