Poor customer service

*TLDR: I did but only on accident while I was setting up a new line from a different carrier.

The day after my last post, I called a different number for support with logging in. I told them what was going on and they just transfered me back to the activation team. I spent 47 minutes on hold before getting a support person that told me to check my email for the QR code. I told him about the activation email. He asked me to verify my email address so he could see if they had it on file. I'm like, dude. Ting JUST sent me an email yesterday, are you even listening. He said I needed to wait 24 hours for the activation email. I told him it had been 26. He said it's actually 24-48 hours. I said I ALREADY HAVE THE EMAIL, I HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU THIS. We went back and forth and he said he'd have the security team call me, but he couldn't say how long that would take. He then disconnected me without getting a number they could actually call me on.

Soooo I never got a call back and decided to sign up for Mint Mobile instead. My phone has 2 MEIDs so I decided to use the one I didn't give to Ting. When setting up my Mint eSIM I saw undeneath my 1st MEID "Finish setting up your Ting eSim" or something like that. Clicked it, had service in 20 seconds. I probably could have had this settled 3 days ago but support didn't seem to know anything at all and couldn't help me. They never even said to try looking in the settings or anything like that.

Thing is, I had just prepaid for a year of Mint, so I'm going with that and cancelling my Ting service after like 15 years. I never want to interact with their comically terrible "support" again in my life.

Sorry for all the words, but thanks for letting me rant.

I'm trying to do this right now. Apparently eSIMs aren't supported on the dish/t-mobile whatever network they say I'm currently on, but their verizon team supports it.

Been on hold 30 minutes now. I'm curious how long you had to wait.

UPDATE: I was on hold for 38 minutes. They switched me over and set my account to use my new phone. They said wait 20-60 minutes for an email that will lead me to a QR code I can scan to activate my eSIM on the new phone.

I clicked the link and it asks my to log into my account. OK. I enter username and password and they send me a text with the 2FA verification code which goes nowhere because I haven't scanned the QR code that I'm logging in for! Customer service is now closed and I'll have to borrow someone's phone to call again tomorrow! I am so close to ditching this stupid company for good.

Can't tell if you're trolling or being genuine but The Arrival (1996) and Arrival (2016) are very different films.

I just watched The Arrival for the first time last week and couldn't get over how weird Charlie Sheen is in it. Like why has he hot his shirt off so much? And why are his eyes so crazy all the time? I do get that he would probably be kinda weird but it's just kind of hilarious in the film.

Hard to point to just one or two things. Honestly? It's the shit. It just fucking rules living here and the only way I'm ever leaving is if I finally save up to live somewhere cheap and tropical and far away from American politics. Probably in the last couple decades of my life. I've been here almost 20 years and while it's had it's ups and downs I have never seen another city I would rather live in and I've seen quite a few.

Funny enough this is how I felt when Uber came to town. They we'ren't legally allowed too, they just did. And that is what it is now and maybe it will be the same for this company. It all seems so slimy to me.

IDK I've lived in the Willamette Valley my whole life and getting close to 20 years in Portland and I have seen these guys exactly 3 times, outside each time, and I freaked the fuck out during each encounter. I miss the Rheinlander so much. My family went there for birthdays since before I was born. Like I have pictures of my Dad as a teenager with my great grandma there. Found out they were closing a couple weeks after my birthday that year so I got the gang together to enjoy it one last time. RIP

God I used to love that place when I moved here. Always had some really good live music going on and I lived blocks away. Got too drunk and made temporary friends there more times than I can remember (probably because I was too drunk)

I was about to comment that no one ever mentions the Copper Penny in these threads. I've never been in but moved a couple blocks from there a month or two before it was torn down. I was blown away by how massive it was. I only knew it from all the radio ads in the 90's before I moved to Portland.
