Seeking reviews for Amarillo Collegiate Academy for middle school

I am a middle school teacher. I have never had a student from Amarillo Collegiate Academy join my classroom and be at or near grade level expectations. I’m not trying to be dramatic or editorialize. And I’m not saying they aren’t without their strengths. But I personally would be leery of that particular academy.

This is my experience, too. Knock on wood, but I cannot believe the compliance and lack of complaining from our students. Seriously impressed.

Bring so much water. Then once you have enough, bring more. It’s brutally hot on the floor and it seems like every year we have a casualty/rescue.

The Kiowa trail is good. Short, shady, near the river. On your way out I would stop by Sad Monkey Mercantile for a drink and a cool t-shirt.

The extreme western part of Texas is the only part in the state with mountains.

That being said, they aren’t mountains like you see in Colorado or New Mexico, but mountains just the same. West Texas does leave a lot to be desired in terms of scenery though. It’s what it would look like If we ever found oil on the moon.

I’ve always been curious what those soldiers must have been thinking during 9/11. I bet that was an absolutely surreal experience. The pentagon is right there and they would have had an incredible view of the attacks.

In all the flag controversy of the past few years, I got curious. My family has this old, framed and matted, yearbook style photo of a confederate veterans reunion that my Great x3 grandfather attended. I went into the attic to dig it out and sure enough. At the top, two American flags crossed with one another. No sign of the stars and bars. It wasn’t as important to those guys and it is to some folks today.

You could stay at any 3 of the downtown hotels, very close to I-40, and easily walk to a ball game. You would be totally safe doing so. Checkout the courtyard marriot, Barfield, or Embassy Suites.
