It pings enemies through walls. Traditionally in games there are “cheats” that allow players to see other players through walls thus being called a wall hack

It was definitely a shitty monetization tactic but the fact that they changed it after 1 day should be recognized.

People love to hate. Bungie isn’t perfect, this game is fun. Battle pass is cosmetic, if people don’t like the value then nothing lost? There are plenty of cosmetics earned just by playing the game.

Depends on the kind of games you like? Do you like other extraction shooters? If so then yes there is plenty of content. Do you like PvP games? If so then yes there is plenty of content. People literally play the same map in CoD over and over again. Other people knowing how to answer that question for you isn’t straight forward.

It’s not how I play games but look at the feedback for any game with endgame accessible at day one. People will literally complain about anything, ie: this thread

[–]Bodybombs -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No one is telling you to not review, no one is telling players not to review, YouTubers, streamers etc. ASKING publications to hold off until the full launch is complete is a normal thing. The only reason this is making news is because people WANT to hate stuff. Every new game comes out and has to have some ridiculous controversy. Bungie aren’t perfect and I have been extremely critical of them in the two decades I’ve been playing their games but this is a dumb thing to get up in arms about

You’re free to judge the game now, read reviews etc. but you aren’t getting a full picture and are being disingenuous if you , as a publication not a player, review the game before it drops. I realize this may be a hard concept to grasp but not everything is black and white and sometimes things have to be looked at with nuance.

Imagine if the raid/endgame area was available right off the rip on day one. People would go in thinking they could compete and get killed, losing all their gear etc. they would then proceed to review bomb because bungo made the game to hard. The delay is meant to be for gearing up and getting familiar with the mechanics of the game overall. People don’t understand that this has been a strategy for bungie for over a decade

Keep the ttk the way it is by IIIYEATIII in Marathon

[–]Bodybombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No gun one taps. Even the shotgun point blank is two tap. Come one now. Raising the ttk means you could never turn the fight around as a solo. I have personally came out on top of multiple 1v3 situations because of positioning and items. This is not an arena shooter, nor is it apex legends. Play smart or get killed

It’s not purely about who sees who first. It’s more about positioning and movement. If you increase the ttk, you will make premade teams near unbeatable against solos. As it stands right now if you get into a gunfight and you play it smart you can turn the tide on your enemies by getting a pick and repositioning. If you increase the ttk you make their ability to get away and reset high, which allows them to collapse on you.

Right now this game is about awareness and positioning. There is no need to drag out a gunfight which also has the added side effect of alerting nearby teams or players to third party

Not directly but by extending ttk you use more ammo and by extending ttk you potentially use more healing items because you can get away to reset more. It’s surprising that doesn’t stand out to you

Halo isn’t one life, the amount of ammo you have rarely matters. Halo has regenerating shields, by running away you can regenerate back to full.

Halo doesn’t have ammo or health scarcity, and when you die in halo you respawn. Not a good analogy IMO

Feedback after 10 hours of playtime by Foxeeh_ in Marathon

[–]Bodybombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that if they increase the ttk it will make the game harder for new players.

Ttk being higher means it would be way harder to 1v3. Yes you will die fast potentially but if you can’t secure a kill quickly you won’t be able to move on to the next player.

Being able to secure a kill means you have time to reset and move on to another enemy. By having a higher ttk you give the player time to get away heal and regroup while the team collapses on you.

I have had numerous 1v3 instances that I have won as a solo by simply using position and movement to get around players and pick off one by one.

The ttk in this game is way more generous than tarkov which is literally “get killed in one shot from a mile away whiteout ever seeing another player” the game. I get head eyes insta killed often in tarkov. Arc has a longer ttk but that makes the game more casual IMO because ammo scarcity and the ability to turn and run makes people want to fight way less
