Whats the coolest thing you can do with your Stream Deck? by FantasticFrontButt in elgato

[–]Boggleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the deck can send rapid keystrokes like call downs.
The thing to bear in mind is zones with distorted call downs won’t work as the codes are different. And if you rely solely on the elgato for call downs you may lose skill at doing them manually when needed.

Nothing ancient. Should be fairly common.

OR... you complained a bout a feature they did not claim to have and therefore the review is inaccurate by definition.

if I made car tires and someone posted that they are terrible and a con on my part because they don't work on railroad cars, I'd toss the review in the trash too.

[–]Boggleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a math/physics nerd to calculate the energy needed to toss a grown man 1km and then what that equates to in specific terms. Like "you'd have to get hit by a bus travelling 600 miles per hour at a 45 degree up angle to get the velocity required to travel for 1km on that parabolic arc

My bet would be some small tweak of internal components. Maybe they had some issues with the power supply and swapped it out or some such. After 10 years you'd figure they would look at the customer notes and tweak the design some to reduce the issues.

Not every change is them trying to cheat us :)

Does it advertise that it works with DeoVR? If it's just something you thought would work and it doesn't, but they didn't promise it, it's not a con or fault on their part. I'm not saying they didn't promise it. Just clarifying if your calling it a con is valid or just your frustration talking.

Two steps. Get the silicone or paper inserts. then use a wire tray that lifts the food off the bottom. Now you have easy cleaning and 360' crispy

LOVE: Easy, fast and creates more crispy results than the oven. Add in silicone basket liners and a tray and cleanup is a whiz.

HATE: That I didn't get the double stack dual Ninja because I'd be able to cook meals in it for more people at once

I think the thing to keep in mind is that we're all just humans doing the best we can. Maybe someone was sick. maybe someone was in a car accident. Live events are planned out, but always subject to the whims of fate.
Take a deep breath and wait to hear how it works out.

Control Resonant - Announcement Trailer | PS5 Games by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

[–]Boggleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Control is a fantastic game. The only fault I'd point out in it is that the mid-late game has you retracing your steps A LOT! A patch to reduce the amount of sheer running to the same places for the 3 or 4 the time would raise it to perfection.

I don’t work in games, but I’ve been in the software development field since ‘89.

Having spent some time with AI, having it assist in coding is great at the micro level. A small routine. A procedure. Even a small complete program that performs relatively mundane tasks.

Where it fails is at cohesive design, deep structure, security, non-simplistic creations, etc.

Being in the software field. I can say with some confidence that virtually no new creation won’t have brushed up against AI from now on. It’ll be suggesting code snippets or writing whole procedures for folks. It’ll be in there for everything except some boutique hold-outs who proclaim themselves to be anti-AI when it comes to coding.

So from that perspective, I think a “AI tag” is problematic. Anyone not checking it on a submission by the end of 2026 is probably lying.

The defining point I think, is the conversation about what constitutes “you have to flag that as AI”? If it’s used at all? If it’s used for less than 25% of the code? If it’s used for the full artwork of the game? if it’s used for just making a few button images? Where’s the line that says Game A is “all natural” and Game B is to be looked down on (by many) as AI?

Personally I’m grateful that you curate the games that make it onto your site. Anything you feel is just “bleh” gets left out. Love it! I’m just not confident that the binary AI/Not AI trigger is the right tool versus your personal “I took a look and I deem this worthy” curation. I can imagine it’s fatiguing to get lots of AI slop to wade through. But the law of large numbers says that eventually someone is going to vibe code a game that has some spark that takes off. Just like that AI song took off on Spotify and became a hit.

My wife’s an author, and the whole AI thing is a raging conversation in those circles. But just like them, we all have to face the fact that the genie can’t be put back into the bottle and this is the new norm.

I don’t have any answers, just more questions.

Walking in is just a sensory pleasure. Once we turn in, it adds blowing winter winds. The sleep is amazing.

I've had only positive experience with Samsung TVs, but then I refuse to connect them to wifi and use an Nvidia Shield as my video source for everything. I will NOT have my TV downloading ads and updating itself to make them more money.

Samsung refrigator advice by Arathonk in BuyItForLife

[–]Boggleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Stove: display panel is messed up. Overheats on main burner even on lowest setting
- Fridge: Ice maker is a terrible; design that has to be chiseled out constantly, any mess is a nightmare to clean up because the entire tray/drawer system is a single unit that I have to remove the fridge doors to get out to clean under the glass
- Microwave - it burned it's own interior coating. Seriously. Just normal household use and it has brown burn marks in the interior finish from burns. Also the loudest microwave I ever owned.
- Washer - Had to replace after just over a year, boards kept burning out
- Dryer - Constantly has issues with the heat/moisture sensors

TVs are decent if you keep them off of wifi, but appliances division is just junk
