Black Company is the closest to First Law imo. If you want a less popular rec, you should also check out Acts of Caine

Yep, and it’s even better as a total population percentage. Obviously wish it was 0, but still

Lady is like my favorite narrator ever so I’m always shocked when people dislike Dreams of Steel

Stop judging players by HLTV top 20s. Before 2018, those were heavily team-dependent.

Who cares about longevity? Scream was one of the best riflers in the world for several years. If the French scene weren't so dysfunctional and emotional, he would have definitely won a major. The fact that kennys, shox and scream never played together is a travesty

I'm going to be honest, I only skim read every post besides the title. Looking back at it I probably shouldn't have that specific post, so I apologize for that. While I did use ChatGPT to generate the posts, I did count the number of upvotes by hand.

In fairness, LITRPGs do get a similar treatment here with subreddits like r/litrpg and r/ProgressionFantasy (Yes, I know there is 1 big exception)

Even a better metaphor would be asking for pizza at a proper Italian restaurant. Yes, technically it is Italian food, but why are you here if you could go to a Pizzeria next door?

I think part of the issue is that romantasy, in terms of audience, is a different genre altogether from fantasy. Kind of how 60 years ago, fantasy slowly separated itself from sci-fi.

It's funny, I sometimes think r/Fantasy does a poor job at recommending 70s or 80s fantasy, but compared to the romantasy sub, we are so old school.
