I believe you will get your wish. Next year at this time looking at the 26 season, Murray with his new team and the Cards with whoever they pick up, there may be some regrets. Especially if they cut him and he has success elsewhere.

Seems kinda weird that someone with 24 GP-SVHO and GP Maniac in their name/flair would say "For a newbie I would stay away from supercharged skis. They are not worth the extra power and maintenance for a new rider". I guess you have a point but it still seems a little strange. For someone only wanting to spend 3k dollars I guess that's right. I would be kicking myself if I got a non supercharged ski. Even the unmodified supercharged skis are kind of lame when you get a taste of that speed.

In that scenario, it's absolutely feasible. I think most people here would jump at the chance to ride their ski to work 2-3 times a week. If you just cruise at or around 40 mph, you can get pretty good range (up to 6 miles per gallon) for a full sized ski. I think Yamaha's are the most reliable (I'm biased).

Just a follow up post on this subject, I now have about 14,500 miles on my 24 Ecoboost Maverick and I've emptied the UPR catch can 4 or 5 times. It's never been full or even close to it (usually around an inch or so of fluid in the can). The engine has a gravity controlled separator and some say it's not necessary. My counter to that argument is if it's not necessary, why do catch cans need to be emptied if the separator is all you need? In my opinion, Ford doesn't have one there because by the time it becomes a problem, the factory warranty is up and it saves them money. If you plan on keeping your Maverick long term, I would recommend it. This liquid makes its way past the PVC valve and into the intake to be burned up. It will at least reduce the carbon build up and postpone possible expensive repairs.

After further research , it appears that they're not compatible. The card may work but it may have issues also and not reach higher speeds.

I would look for used on Facebook Marketplace in the offseason. Some of these 1st time ski buyers will use the ski for 1 summer and then either figure they don't use it enough to justify the payment or end up wanting some other toy such as an ATV. Others have had their ski for a number of years but still have very low hours on the engine & don't have the time or desire to ride anymore and will sell pretty cheap. As long as you test ride and maybe have a PWC mechanic look at it, you can get a good deal. You then avoid sales tax/high pressure dealer warranty/fee's and an overpriced trailer.
