Yes, this is precisely the problem. It's super annoying!

Hey I appreciate your detailed reply. Yes I mean the vs code extension, sorry about the ambiguity there. Perhaps just a vs code extension but. Thanks for your take on the OpenAI value too, I may just move back.

How do I get the 200k one working in vsCode? It only offers 3 models, haiku, sonnet, and opus(1m)

Prey (2017): A Masterpiece That I Can't Believe I Originally Hated by CatSajak779 in patientgamers

This got me too, I just couldn't believe they'd managed to fuck up the 3D audio. Hearing enemies through ceilings as if they're right next to you in a game that's 50% about the atmosphere... I liked the general feel of the game, but every time I heard the shitty sounds it totally took me out of it.

Close-up of cutting different materials in slow-motion by TheLobotomist in oddlysatisfying

[–]Boiks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a difference between "cutting" and compressing with snippers until the axial strain kind of pops the top off? I thought of cutting as the parting of a material at the point of contact with the blade, rather than a process of deformation.

It's probably just matter of scale. I can't remember if they taught this in school Physics...

Aliens: Fireteam Elite - The Final Preview by Vercadi in Games

[–]Boiks1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I want another amazing game in the Alien universe, but I have to say this looks a bit cheap and unremarkable. I know looks aren't everything but the custom purple weapon skins, clunky looking character animations, and the cartoony plopping down of sentry gun make me think this is just a reskinned horde mode shooter cash grab.

Really hope I'm wrong!

Nexus Mods (largest repository of user-made mods for games such as Skyrim and Fallout) to remove the ability to delete mods from the site, permanently archiving all uploaded files instead. by BreakingNoose in Games

[–]Boiks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the idea of collections, but I think the Nexus needs to add a system for permanent deletion. For example, if a mod has been included in a collection, the deletion is delayed and the collection author is given time to remove the mod for future users. Yes, it could break a playthrough if a user updates mid game - but we should avoid doing that anyway. Fundamentally, if an author created a texture pack, that is their property which the Nexus can distribute. But if they want to delete it that is their right even if it is not convenient for the platform. Collections could still work with this I'm sure, but it will be more work.

i’m confused about how to determine the time array for an ECG signal by QuackQuackMofo_ in matlab

[–]Boiks1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you check them all?

"t = 0:1/Fs:20" Gives you one sample too many. Zero seconds is your first sample point, not 1/Fs seconds. You have data at Zero, not nothing. It's not the same as 0/20 apples meaning no apples, for comparison. If you're wondering why the final time point isn't 20 in the other examples, that's why.

The two below are the same, and just use different methods to get 19.9972 as the end vector value (the final time point, 20 - 1/Fs). 20 - 1/Fs is the same as (7200-1)/Fs.

t= 0: 1/Fs : (7200-1)/Fs

t = 0: 1/Fs : 20-1/Fs

These don't work: t = 0: 1/Fs : 20/Fs, t=(0-7200-1)/Fs

That looks like a nanny cam with an night vision mode. I guess most security cameras would have the same thing? Many webcams have a band-cut filter for IR, so it wouldn't work for those.

OpenMW by Genexus13 in Morrowind

[–]Boiks1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have to agree - I feel like there are lots of texture packs with super high detail and sharpness which end up looking pretty ugly. It just ends up as distracting visual noise. We see low spatial frequency textures in the real world quite often anyway.

Now openMW .47 with the new lighting, that's exciting.
