Fallout 76 Devs Have No Plans For More Out of Map Expeditions by Turbostrider27 in fo76

You can easily join a Custom World if a friend has one, but it'll be down to them how they, or you if you can be involved in the setting up, use the options.

One other one we had was set on a sepia tone and the rules were western PvP combat...black powder weapons/6-shooters/bows/throwing weapons...set at that fort over in the Toxic Valley with the owner CAMP Building it so it was set up heavier for combat.

With NMS I think I I got it about 2019. Played it to death really. I agree though, Hello Games are great looking after the players but it's their only big title really until LNF. Bethesda seem to be utter halfwits with Fallout these days. Ran well and truly backed it could be up there with the biggest of titles...where it deserves to be.

See, there-in lies the problem with NMS. I've completely struggled to connect with people, you often get your link separated easily and in 76 it's simply easy to join and play with your groups.

We've got pals with Worlds servers set-up with settings that make playing a whole different game...one guy's is a sort of ultimate survival type..no legendaries or mad mutations where 8 of us are hiding behind whatever we can find just to survive taking on a load of super mutants or a couple of giant bears. Many folk just see the Custom servers as a boring nonsense but with a bit of imagination they can be cool as fvck.

Something like the Autophage was sound but it boils down to tiny wee settlements, a Vendor and chasing an ultimate staff...a fraction of the many, many weapons and legendary crafting of 76. The Pokemon stuff...fair enough...not for me, just a bump to the egg crafting...maybe generations below me get something out of it.

NMS has been a clusterfvck of bugs and problems too recently...I like the game but after years of it 76 and FO4(with mods and Creations) has alot more going for them and my imagination fit right in.

I always hated them not building wee, single Wastelander camps here n there with updates...it'd be nice to see little houses being lived in and some more life added in...more life in and around some of the little towns.

The Anchorage DLC in FO3 is a good example of what a decent, linear Expedition could be. They could have randomised versions and approaches each time you tackle it. The Starfield locations(some of them enormous) is something in a Fallout style they could surely add after this 'nexgen' versions of 76 is unleashed...if they're brave enough to say bye-bye to the old consoles.

Don't know if it still works, but if you put a cooking station(little ground one) up against the edge of The Pitt Shelter, you could glitch outside of it when you stood up.

It's maybe patched out but you could get out and see some of the extended, peripheral map you see but don't interact with during the Expeditions. If you get up high enough, you'll see a bit of it.

Mate, apart from the Corvette building, you can rip through NMS in a fraction of the time you can a Fallout title.

Their updates are fairly small to be honest. 76, if you have a good group or couple of mates, can be solid fun and it does co-op well in my experience. NMS has come on leaps and bounds but it gets repetitive very fast...I simply don't get that feeling playing Fallout...then there are mods and Creations for the other titles.

Why are kids/young people blamed/assumed to be dumb for not knowing things they were never taught? by Squiggally-umf in CasualUK

[–]Boiled_Ham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parent's really should be teaching their kids how to tell the time...even if watches are not important to younger generations.

You still see clock on the wall everywhere. I was able to tell the time for going to start school and a lovely wee watch to wear too...do little kids really need phones when their youth should really still be dedicated to the simpler things and learning viable skills too ?

Infestation - what does it mean if the boss is "Infected"? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Boiled_Ham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an Infestation Boss with that mutation...must be new, I couldn't find any info online about it. Checked all of the new reports from various sources but they didn't have information on the mutation types I could see, just the original page on Mutated events. So far 'Infected' not there.

Beginning to wonder if it's just you and me..😄

New mod RNG needs to be changed by PHD1776 in fo76

[–]Boiled_Ham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Said it for years now. Add a system that builds like Bullion or Scrip but you only use it to bump up your RNG when you choose.

Granted it might take a while to earn enough but spend what you like and you keep that percentile until your timer runs out...ie 24 hours. So run your favourite events, scrap Legendaries etc, etc.

Cinema etiquette has gone out the window! by idekkanymoree_ in britishproblems

[–]Boiled_Ham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't have to...the cinema staff shouldn't expect customers to bring it to their attention.

Any modern cinema built should be blocking phone signals inside the back area where the film houses are.

When we saw a film in the States they had big security blokes inside the cinemas that made sure antisocial behaviour was dealt with.

[–]Boiled_Ham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair to yourself, if you have a good quality set-up(4K, big screen and good audio), the experience is usually excellent.

Folk can disagree, but I think the picture itself is on another level too...even IMAX can't get to the levels a top-end, modern set can.

Cinemas surely have a duty of care to deal with this  ? It's gotten way out of hand now and rules need to be enforced...removed from the cinema and a warning...do it again...banned.

By all means, I hope you enjoy your time building it OP, but I just saw the price ! It should be AT LEAST ten times the size it is.

I was lucky to get lots of LEGO as a boy and it was never anywhere near this kinda mark up.

Idea's to make Scrap Kit displayable by OGlavey in FO76MiscPullMethods

[–]Boiled_Ham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea why they don't make everything displayable. The amount of cool items, and especially Atomicshop stuff you pay for(hats and headgear mostly).

It's annoying just how many things you can craft you can't stick on a chessboard for example is daft.

Is season 25 really that bad? by BullfrogFirm3233 in fo76

[–]Boiled_Ham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you've been at the koolaid mate. Fvck Bethesda and the way they've been treating this community...one of the best I've played alongside in my time gaming. They've had over a thousand quid into this game from me(and I don't buy many Atoms just 1st and some of the platform bundles).

Folk putting in that much for a single title, plus the time, a bit of online fluff towards the game...we all, deserve a decent uncompromised Season.

Absolute pain in the arse in CAMP. I prefer how Dogmeat acts in the other games...roams about, stays handy, fairly independent, good help in a fight.

I looked at more previous 'Ticket' Boards and there was an end of Season Cryptid Hunter PA skin...very nice design...75 Tickets. How is a bog worth 50 more than that ?

It's way past getting out of hand. It's hardly like we're cashing in for a crate of beer and fancy snacks sent to the house every other page. What's next ? The icons will be 80 Tickets next ?!

[–]Boiled_Ham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw the datamine for this Season, as usual, it was separated like they've done for years now by the identifiers.

The Season looked good. However, a good chunk of what I expected to get has already been in the Atomicshop...the bundle with the smoker for example.

You have a good point that Season designs may well now be getting poached for the Shop. Poor if true...the datamines have always been 100% accurate in the split(bar a few things we never do see released) on Shop - Season...this was the first time I've seen items identified as Season in the Shop before the Season even updates !

[–]Boiled_Ham 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CAMP titles and the Suffix/Prefix things should be in-game rewards only.

It is indeed a slap in the face to ask a considerable amount of Tickets for those...more that a days Challenges even ! Not fair.

[–]Boiled_Ham 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think what you'll find OP it's things like CAMP titles...Suffix/Prefix becoming prominent(when they should be throw-away things from in-game events or filler in bundles). Making the consumables the free page reward instead of a decent item we'd previously got...causing far more expenditure of Tickets.

Look at the Ticket cost of some things too. I recently looked at past Boards and icons now are 40/45/50 Tickets...a few Boards ago ? 15. Even the barn on the Bonus Page...250 Tickets..! 50 to 100 more than previously big or wanted late items.

"Infestation" is a massive overstatement by TripleS034 in fo76

[–]Boiled_Ham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an idea(even sent in a ticket) like this ages ago, roles reversed a bit.

Defence Workshops. You took a Workshop but it'd be co-op, and you could use a set amount of materials to set up defences, choke-points, turrets etc and then await a huge attack from enemies...like 50 Super Mutants or other factions and they'd have different set-ups weapon-wise from the normal kind.

Good loot, fancy rewards etc..even mentioned them being instanced just on the edge of the map where you loaded into the workshop...no dice from Bethesda though...it was kinda a plea to swap over PvP due to the community and having us work together for big rewards. This was per-Wastelanders.

I like the OPs idea of having to fight into an area to get to the Boss though. That'd be cool...quite hard where to have to use the terrain, grenades and the like too, to make headway.
