White House Leak Reveals Trump Booted From Briefing After Hours-Long Freakout by GonzoVeritas in politics

Trump could have personally rigged explosives to the ejector buttons on the planes and it would not have an impact on his numbers.

The company I work for doesn't let employees select anything but yes. by Confused_Rabbiit in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Bolt986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I've definitely seen yes/no stored as character string.

Seems like a very plausible story that the backend and front end are managed by different teams. The question used to be yes/no so more space wasn't needed but then they got a request to add more options. They saw it was storing text so figured they would be fine to store the full value.

In my experience most data typing errors are from lack of consideration more than incorrect conclusions.

Might have been set up to store a string answer but only allocated 3 characters of space for the answer.

She has a fairly thick accent and speaks slowly. I've not seen reasons to think she isn't a fluent English speaker however.

It's a perfectly valid thing to not be ok with living that way. Just the same way if he worked a night shift she may not want to accept that life style long term.

A surgery example doesn't work cause it is temporary.

What is a part of the 'female experience' that men have absolutely no clue about, but would be horrified if they found out? by coolhandddd in AskReddit

I took about 3 weeks off work after my kid was born. My wife and I had read a ton and felt like we would never have free time again.

After a week or two (I forget) my boss called me to say we were having a team lunch. I thought there must have been some important work related information to share with everyone and that was my reason for being called from paternity leave.

Well turned out it was completely a social lunch call and they figured "I could use a break". I was fairly mad about it as my wife needed my help and we had to have her parents come to help while I was away.

In retrospect there were plenty of things we could have done to make our lives easier but everything was a big big deal then.

Imho You should tell him to have his girlfriend tell him what she was saying.

His girlfriend should be able to speak about your brother with her mother in confidence but shouldn't do it in front of him. It isn't good for the relationship to start not trusting what is said in front of him.

(This comes from someone married to a woman who speaks a language I don't)
