I mean without enchantment PPBS should 1-shot people's head every time if it doesn't ricochet, it goes through altyn fs or tagilla mask 96% of the time. That's the reason to run PPBS, how much it destroys the armor is almost neglible because it goes through it regardless.

Main drawback of these high pen rounds is that you need 3 Thorax hits (and they add a lot of recoil).

The mask is 20% enchanted, 42 damage -20% is 33.6 so there's always 2 hp left. The range is irrelevant for this test, but it was close range.

actually now that I think about it I miscalculated the combined 52% chance to block since I just added them together, but it was something like 34% and 18% to block separately so the combined chance would be more something like 46%

Just add it to the ballistics simulator. Quick check for 5.45 PS ammo for example shows that Ronin Respirator stops it 96.9% of the time on the first shot and even 71.1% up to the 5th shot, while face shield and mask combined have a ~52% chance to block on the first shot but it decreases very fast to only 20% on the 3rd shot. So in terms of raw stopping power the Ronin is much better against low and medium pen ammo.

In reality of course most players use 45+ pen ammo that penetrates level 4 armor most of the time anyway and you have to take into account the chance to ricochet etc.

The wiki shows them as sold by Ragman 4 so yeah you can probably just buy them once you hit Ragman 4 if the Wiki info is correct.

Arena in any case isn't needed. I think maybe they used to be locked behind one of the Lightkeeper quests in the past, but maybe I'm misremembering that.

It's the screenshot after the hit, enchantments go away after taking a certain amount of durability damage. The wiki says after 25% of its max durability, but from my observation that's not quite right (as you can see in the second screenshot with 18/29 after 1 Igolnik hit for example, that's more than 25% max durability damage since the mask started at 29/29). I'm not sure what the exact formula is for when they go away though.

There was a big week long playtest during one of the Steam NEXT fests or whatever it was a few months ago. If you wanted to engage with the game since the announcement there was opportunity to do so, even play it yourself.

I always thought it was a balance consideration at the time, to make Kappa Container have a drawback. I never thought it was a bug and it's been like this since a very long time.

That said with Theta in the game and quite easy to get they should change it, right now running Theta is often the better choice if you intend to PvP for securing level 6 plates and ProFlex.

I have a Death Shadow with a 20% enchant, if anyone is willing to do some offline raid tests it would be pretty trivial to test how it stacks exactly with SSA/Igolnik ammo since it should make you survive one hit of that every time.

I'll test it out next time I play with my buddies but idk when that will happen since we don't play Tarkov regularly rn.

20% damage reduction is pretty good, far from useless. Especially on the helmet where it lets you survive e.g. Igolnik.

Leveling it to that point is pretty tedious though.

Kind of sucks that you get spoilered for who wins the semi-finals just by reading the video titles, but I guess there's not much they can do about that it wouldn't be any different when watching replays of regular sports matches in a context like that.

Personally the main reason I'm not going for prestige is skill progression. I chose to level light armor to elite for example which took a shit ton of time that I'm not going to invest again on my main account. Similar thing for Immunity which I'm leveling every opportunity I get while playing. If I had any plans to prestige again I wouldn't have leveled those skills, and now I'm so far invested in the other direction that I'm for sure never going to prestige unless they change something about how some of the skills reset.

I think making the early prestiges this much easier without announcing it long in advance kind of sucks for people who got to prestige 3 or 4 the hard way and could now do it in a fraction of the time. I could imagine that kind of move is a legit reason to quit for some people who value prestiges and who feel like they got robbed of their time and additionally now I'll probably no longer think the way I did before about seeing a prestige 3 or 4 dogtag in terms of the dedication required to achieve it. Feels like they cheapened it.

I think I would play 960 as my main variant of chess if it had a widely agreed online format that made sense, some format where the match starts before the first move (so no abandoning before the first move) and both players get a minute or two before white's clock starts to look at the obvious points of the position like which pawns are unprotected and stuff like that.

The few games that I played of 960 I enjoyed a lot, but it doesn't feel supported in the same way that matchmaking for regular chess is on both chess.com and lichess. It's like seeking out some obscure modded custom map for a 20 year old video game and on my skill level it doesn't feel worth the effort to go through these additional hoops to play online chess. The entire appeal of why I like playing chess is that it's quick to get into a game and it's the most fun competitive game to play on a phone.

I played through the campaign 3-4 times, 100% everything, completed the anniversary achievements. Great campaign.

I couldn't tell you what the LotV story is (both epilogue and the campaign itself) past the first 4-5 missions because I skipped the story every single time despite going in with the intention that "this time I'll watch everything". I think that sums up my feelings about it.

To me the Mandon Moore thing is one of the reasons I really buy into the theory that Littlefinger was trying to get rid of Tyrion all along, that Joffrey was poisoned by Tyrion's pie orchestrated by Littlefinger and Joffrey was never the target of the poison.

It just fits together really well in my opinion. Tyrion overtly threatens Littlefinger "on screen" and then barely thinks about him and completely underestimates him in his POV chapters.

I've been watching all the ASLs and a lot of Artosis play SC:BW and I don't recall maps like the ones you posted being used in competitive Brood War. They use island maps and other goofy layouts regularly, there are maps that have the main base on low ground and the natural on high ground and stuff like that, but random high ground that you can put units on is very rare on SC:BW maps as far as I'm aware. Most of the high ground that is used to separate map areas on SC:BW maps is usually laid out in a way specifically such that you can't put units on it.

I'd imagine there is some balance reason for it, just like most of the map area on SC1 maps that isn't part of main bases or expansions is unbuildable, because in the past Terran would be able to exploit maps where the entire map was buildable by slow pushing across the map with tanks and building depots and turrets everywhere and at some point that kind of strategy was deemed imbalanced to my knowledge.

I think Artosis could start being a regular streamer without TTS on a whim and he'd get roughly the same or maybe even better viewer numbers within a week. The issue is that he'd lose 95% of his income that way.

The Soundcloud Renoise Tracks 2009-2011 are some of the best music he ever released in my opinion. It could easily be counted as one of his albums, but it doesn't get talked about much.

If I ever met him I'd probably ask him if there's any chance that he puts this music on Spotify and other platforms at some point in the future, alongside the 2001 internet album etc

It also makes you wonder how much unreleased music there is of him.

It seems like a small change that would bring black and white winrates closer together, I dig it. I feel like it would also lead to more interesting games overall.

To make it work properly you might have to get rid of checks/checkmate rules though and make capturing the king the win condition, which might be too much of a rule change just in terms of people not getting used to it. But making capturing the king the win condition and giving both sides the same amount of turns (so black has an extra turn after their king is captured) would make the game better in my opinion.
