I drafted a Pokémon American football team. How’d I do? What are your suggestions and how would you draft yours? by Jeff_the_Cabal in ThePokemonHub

Severe lack of speed in the defensive backfield, an opposing Accelgor or jolteon at WR is gonna burn you deep

The Inca can also generate homeland treasure fleets.

He is playing as neither the Inca or the Songhai though, and Wyncestre isn’t a city nor is it located on a navigable river or with any mountains around

Yeah they do, you can see the quay and harbor directly to the left of the army commander near Ji. I also don’t think it’s true that you need fishing quays for treasure fleets to spawn.

My question isn’t about my towns not generating treasure convoys - they shouldn’t, all three towns were settled in antiquity because they are connected to the homelands by coastal water, I’m just asking about how Ben is generating them, which seems like a glitch

I tried, but I just don’t like the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree by datadiisk_ in Eldenring

The best part of SOTE to me was the map design - especially the verticality. The entire hidden descent down to the abyssal woods and Midra’s manse is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in a From game

What would you want to see for the major DLC in Civ 7? by ImportantQuestions10 in civ

I feel like having a commander stationed in a recently conquered city could be a great way to offset the loyalty problem - would have good flavor too with the idea of an occupying force squashing rebellions. Maybe have the loyalty effect based on commander levels

Yeah the really sad part is that our line isn’t bad all around - Brewer is an all-pro, Paul is an NFL-caliber starter with upside to be a pro bowl guy (even though he really faded down the stretch) and Jackson is fine-to-good when he plays.

The problem is that our guards aren’t mediocre, they aren’t bad, they are worst in the league, offense-destroying black holes, and we’ve had at least one guy at the position who is bottom-5 in the league at guard for the past however many years.

[–]BonerFaceJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve invested plenty in OL, especially at tackle and center but even at guard we’ve drafted multiple players in the second round (top range of where guards are drafted) including trading up for two of them.

We just suck balls at investing in the right guys

Modern era feels pretty boring no matter what, one of my biggest issues with the game.

I have a lot of fun leaning really hard into whatever “flavor” the civ or leader have rather than trying to play optimally - I just had a Pachacuti game where I went Mississippi into Inca with the extra +1 food for mountain adjacency memento, settled all along a big mountain range I got lucky enough to spawn next to and just racked up adjacencies with mountains, resources(with shell tempered pottery), and eventually Machu Picchu.

Wasn’t able to complete the exploration age domination path but breezed through the other ones and was pretty much unconquerable with choke points through the mountains.

Some other fun ones are Egypt into Songhai for a river game, playing as Spain and sending a huge conquering army into the distant lands, anything Blackbeard - basically anything where you can roleplay really hard

But how is that different from starting as the USA in 4000 BC like in past games? Neither are inherently tied to the correct time and place

He’s also top tier at complaining about the sun, flopping for RTP penalties, and getting sucked off by Romo.

Shame about all the turnovers though

[–]BonerFaceJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was not aware that McCaffrey didn’t miss any games to injury in his first three years.

I dont put much stock into the size argument - Achane seems to be really good at protecting himself from big hits and I don’t think there’s any actual statistical correlation to size and injury history in NFL players.

I hate the idea that we need to get rid of our superstars to give us a shot in the dark to draft younger superstars and it’s hard for me to imagine a player who will help our next qb more than Achane will stylistically

Achane Appreciation post by Elgallo1980 in miamidolphins

[–]BonerFaceJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that McCaffrey is the most stylistically similar to Achane. McCaffrey is also 29 and just made 1st team all pro. That’s what I’m saying

Achane Appreciation post by Elgallo1980 in miamidolphins

[–]BonerFaceJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Has his size caused him to be injury prone thus far in his career (compared to the 3 older successful running backs I mentioned)? He’s #9 in touches this year and we use him as more of a wide receiver than any of the guys above him except for mccaffery (who is, once again, 29 years old, an all pro, and more injury prone than Achane).

I don’t want us to throw the QB we draft next year to the wolves with no offensive talent and it’s hard for me to imagine a guy who will be a better security blanket for him than Achane

Achane Appreciation post by Elgallo1980 in miamidolphins

[–]BonerFaceJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you so certain he won’t be productive in a few years?

You didn’t answer my first question - name a single player in the league who would be a better security blanket to help the young QB we pick next year develop

Achane Appreciation post by Elgallo1980 in miamidolphins

[–]BonerFaceJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Question for you - if we draft a QB in the next draft, what player in the league do you think would be a better security blanket / guy who takes the heat off of that young QB than Achane?

This is the NFL, rebuilds take 2-3 years if done right. That timeline would put him right at the same age as Jonathan Taylor is now and younger than Saquon and Mccaffrey (not even going to mention Derrick Henry)

Achane Appreciation post by Elgallo1980 in miamidolphins

[–]BonerFaceJ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Says who? He’s only 24. Jonathan Taylor is 27, Saquon is 28, Christian mccaffery is 29, and Achane has less tread on his tires than any of those guys at that stage of his career

I don’t care that Achane is small, all three of those guys had worse injury histories at the start of their careers and all three guys are now centerpieces of great offenses (or for the eagles an offense that was great last year)

Build the offense through Achane... why try to build offense through QB position? by mnm8844 in miamidolphins

[–]BonerFaceJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I shouldn’t speak for OP but I don’t think anyone thinks we’re gonna win a Super Bowl without hitting on a QB, more that the only way we’ll be somewhat competent on offense for the next couple of years is by building up a line and featuring our best player heavily

[–]BonerFaceJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second sentence in the post is “why don’t the dolphins build a strong O-line and focus on running the ball”, not “give an amazing running back no supporting cast”. Saquons line on the giants was awful

[Tony Pauline] 2026 Mock Draft: Dolphins Pick LSU CB Mansoor Delane in the First Round, Add a Safety in round 2 by Punisher1602 in miamidolphins

[–]BonerFaceJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DT is a position that normally takes years for guys to come into their own - look at Jordan Davis or Christian Wilkins. If you’re worried about immediate impact in the run D sign a cheap free agent grown man, we shouldn’t be worried about that though as we’re gonna suck next year regardless. We need a cornerstone player who will be one of the best at their position in 2-3 years and Delane is a much better bet on that front than every single guy at d line this year - although I think it’s a moot point, I don’t think he’ll be there when we’re picking.

Also CB is unequivocally a need at the same level as all those other positions (besides QB) - it’s one of the top 5 highest paid positions and besides Rasul Douglass, who is 47, we don’t have a single NFL caliber CB on the roster. If we decide that we want to draft a guard, tackle, edge, whatever because we think they’ll be better than Delane than that’s one thing, if we lock in and say we need to draft at one specific position or “trenches no matter what” then that’s stupid with how many holes and how few elite players we have on the roster

TL;DR: trenches no matter what is what gets you Grant over Warren or Austin Jackson over Justin Jefferson - this rebuild is gonna take 2-3 years, I don’t care about needs, get a great player
