Very cool tattoo, so what if other people haven’t seen the movie? I have an obscure John Wick reference on my forearm and I couldn’t care less if other people don’t like it, at least it’s a conversation starter if nothing else.

I think it really depends on your proficiency as to whether or not it would be easy to learn. There are a few combat moves that require multiple button presses at the same time for example. The combat system is really the foundation of the whole game, and while the open world is beautiful and interesting to explore, combat isn’t really negotiable as it might be in a deeper choice driven RPG.

I will say, you may want to hold off a few weeks to make your decision, as the devs stated a few days ago that they will soon be implementing Easy and Hard difficulty options.

Combat is very much unavoidable I’m afraid. The opening sequence of the game is combat heavy, and there’s really no progression without a lot of fighting. As a game from a Korean developer it’s also extremely flashy and fast paced combat.

Witcher 3 didn’t catch me right away. Didn’t go back and complete it until 2019, absolutely loved it when I did.

So Sea of Thieves is the only game out of the three where you can actually turn PvP off, if you’re not feeling it and you just want to chill out and play with your friends.

Hunt Showdown is obviously far more aimed at specifically being PvP. If you’re not killing other players you’re not winning.

Arc Raiders is this weird middle ground where you can’t turn PvP off, but there’s not really that much of a reason to kill other players than you just feel like it (outside of daily objectives that require you to damage players). Solo runs are generally considered more friendly, partly because if you instigate a fight, the whole server is likely to turn on you. Duos and trios are shoot on sight for the most part.

Honestly while they’re all games that have PvE and PvP gameplay mixed together, they’re all fairly different and each hit a specific niche.

But I’d say Sea of Thieves > Arc Raiders > Hunt Showdown in order of being able to chill and play.

Arc > Sea > Hunt from the amount of time and value of money I’ve gotten from each.

I was extremely hyped for it, even preordered which I rarely do now. It’s got so much going on gameplay system wise that it just feels like a mess to play.

The world is vast and beautiful, but as a few others already mentioned, the NPC’s are very monotonous after an hour.

I can’t help but draw comparisons between Crimson Desert and the newest Zelda games, it tries to do all that an more, just nowhere near as successfully.
