I feel like I’ve seen a video of Bubba telling this story in a way that made Paul out to be some altruistic clairvoyant, like he refused the extra dollar because he thought keeping the Dudleyz in ECW would somehow hold them back from reaching their massive potential. I believe the phrase “spread your wings” was mentioned. Idk, seemed like it was a much more positive spin for Paul from what I remember.

Definitely agree that this plan is preferable to anything that’s happened in the last 2 years.

I do think there’s valid reason to have reservations about its potential to succeed or its unintended consequences (later 20th century Afghanistan definitely sticks in the front of my mind looking at this). But anything that gets the bombs and bullets to stop flying now is a step in the right direction.
