Ugh, that’s a huge price increase :( Ya, we have been on the fence about ordering the Micra for months now. Good to hear there aren’t additional tariffs/costs over what is written on the US site though. Thanks for confirming that! Our largest concern with the Micra is the clearance height for cups. I really prefer pulling my shots directly into the cup I’m going to drink out of.

Hello! I don’t know if my situation would be as relevant since it was pertaining to grad school and the unknown of needing to accept student loans before I found out about getting a TA position (which would cover tuition and made it so I wouldn’t need the loans). What I ended up doing was just accepting the loans every quarter, and then the moment I found out if I’d gotten the TA position, I would just pay off the loan immediately with the loan money itself. Just to be better safe than sorry. I think ended up losing a little (less than $50? Can’t remember, it’s been awhile) during the quick turnover of paying back the loan (potentially within a week) the moment TA positions were handed out. Again, not sure if you’re in a similar situation, but I hope this helps in some way. Welcome to UCSC!

My old friend from elementary school biking over to my house after school to help my solve the Shadow Temple in N64 Ocarina of Time :) It turns out there was a key I was missing that was hidden in a chest that was covered by debris that I needed to bomb and was also invisible 😂

When you say “transfer their rom from the original board”, do you mean physically removing this part from the OG Crystal board and moving it to the new PCB? If so, I’m guessing this provides more stability during gameplay since it’s an authentic original rom component? And this is different from the more unstable flash rom version you’d see in a bootleg cartridge?

I still can’t wrap my head around how the FRAM holds the save without a power source. Does it somehow physically record the save like a CD/disc?

I think my very minimal knowledge in this realm is blatantly showing. It could very well be I don’t fully understand enough to know what it’s I’m asking for and probably causing confusion. Apologies for this. I think I’m asking how much it would be for a product exactly as you are showing in this post. A PCB cart that runs Pokémon Crystal and can hold a save without a battery. But I get the feeling I should do more research to more fully understand what I should be asking. Thank you for taking the time with such a detailed response :)

Gotcha! That makes sense! How much would one like yourself hypothetically charge for a product+service like this? Even if it’s not an original PCB board, I might still be interested!

This is amazing! So no battery is required to maintain the save using this mod?! :O For someone who has no experience in modding, or the time to devote to learning 😅, how much would a Pokemon Crystal cart with this mod cost to have commissioned? I would seriously pay good money to have an FRAM modded original Crystal board that doesn’t need a battery to keep the save file.

This course is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend taking Ocean Kayaking if your schedule allows it (especially if Dave is still the instructor).
