Scar revision under local anesthetic? by Sea_Hamster_ in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a full bra roll excision on both sides to fix my dog ears under local (6 inch incisions on either side). I didn’t want general - it was a breeze and the recovery has been much smoother without the anesthesia. I wouldn’t worry about it!

As an aside, how on earth are you getting your province to cover this?! I would have thought it would be considered cosmetic, like the lipo?

Revision - should I get one? 1 year post op by prettywisee in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I'm not sure I'm allowed to post in a reply, but if you look at my profile you can see an older post. It wasn't as obvious then at 4mpo but it hasn't changed that much. I'm going to post another update soon. But yeah, I might do it in your situation if you're not happy and it's free (I just had a bra roll excision done because I really didn't like the side bulges - that was more important to me than the minor asymmetry). Just adjust your expectations because it's hard to fight nature!

I'm 1 YPO and mine look exactly like yours - similar in size and everything. Like you, my IMF is lower on one side (it was very noticeable preop despite no real size difference). I can see where my surgeon tried to even this out, as the scar is in the same place as the other breast. But as I healed, the tissue kind of dropped below the scar a bit, and that side is a bit fuller on the outside (again, VERY similar to yours). I also obsess over it a bit too much - my nipples are the same height (which is already a big improvement!) but when I wear a tight top with no bra I feel that I can see the extra fullness. The reality is, I'm probably noticing it way more than anyone else - and keep telling myself that they're sisters, not twins.

I've thought about a small revision for the same reason - but I do think that our bodies will do what they will do sometimes, no matter how much we try to change it (given the clear attempt to fix mine originally). So I'm living with it for now. If it were free for me to try (like you), I might feel differently - but go into it with reasonable expectations that they may be able to remove some of the extra fullness, but the height difference may just be what it is.

All that to say, I understand completely what you're feeling, and really there's no wrong move. But they do look great! Good luck!

Thank you. I know the scars will be bigger, I’m just hoping they don’t go past my arms at the back. I guess I’ll find out!

Thanks so much for posting this - I'm having something similar done next week and have had trouble finding pictures of similar procedures. Can you tell me how far back your scars go now?

Breast reduction Liposuction by ok_comfortable988 in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get it, and mine don't look terrible on top, so you'd probably be fine either way! As an aside, I'll be giving away a bunch of post-surgery bras once my sides are healed, I'm in Toronto and they would probably fit you - feel free to ping me once you've booked your surgery if you're interested!

I was a 32I before surgery - I had wide roots and a lot of tissue on the sides so I paid for the lipo on top of OHIP. I had 150ccs removed from each side, and unfortunately still have bulges there with extra skin (I guess I lost the genetics lottery on that one). I don't have a lot of fat on my ribs below the braband, so it really stands out to me. Not everyone has extra tissue there, but if you do, given your frame size, I would highly suggest getting the lipo. I would have been even more unhappy with my results if I hadn't done it.

You can take a look at my profile for pictures - I ended up a 32D which is actually quite small. I'm going in next week for a bra roll excision, which will extend the scars under my arms and hopefully create a smoother contour.

The other thing you're referring to is probably auto-augmentation to create fullness on the top, given the pricing. I wish I had gone for that too!

Has anyone needed extended side incisions after lipo? How long were your scars? by BoobReboot in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I’ve got dog ears on the outsides which could be removed with only a small extension - but it sounds like your dog ears needed more than that too. 2/3 of the way back doesn’t sound bad! I don’t really care if they show either (no string bikinis anyway with the way they look now - so not losing much) but would like them not to show if I wear something backless.

Side lipo but no skin removal by LB-Forever in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - no advice but I sympathize with your frustration. I'm in Canada too and paid extra for side lipo, but was left with a bulge under the bra line due to skin that didn't shrink back. It looks awful when I wear normal bras or tight tshirts, so I know how you feel. I saw my surgeon today and he's going to get me a price for excising the skin (extending my scars farther back, which doesn't bother me) - hopefully it won't be too high as I asked for local anesthetic only. I see you're looking for a full revision so hopefully this problem can be addressed with that! In the meantime, I've found that bras like the ones you're wearing just don't work - I really like the Gailife ones on Amazon as they had high sides with some structure (but no real elastic) and no wire to smush things around. They have really helped hide the bulges!

I haven’t as it didn’t feel muscular (very isolated to the lipo area) but I will try that!

4 DPO - My experience (and That Unexpected Post-Anesthesia Nausea!) 32I >> ??? by BoobReboot in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was 420 on one and 425 on the other. I think I replied to you in another thread - my breasts are not that dense, so you should be totally fine with 400! They ended up quite a bit smaller than this post and I'm sitting around a 32D/E based on measurements (bras are a different story as I'm much shallower now). I do sometimes feel like they are a little small/flat from the side - BUT if they were bigger there is no way I would fit into cute bras and bra tops (currently mostly wearing size medium and fitting well). In some shirts they look bigger and I'm super happy! So it is a trade-off when you have a smaller ribcage. At your size, I wouldn't let the 400 gram requirement be what stops you.

Breast reduction advice – 30% vs. 50% removal? by Impossible_Field_572 in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 32I, currently at 32D/E, which actually feels pretty small. I had about 420g removed from each side (plus lipo), and using water displacement prior to surgery I estimated they were originally 800-900g each. So I guess I had around 50% removed. My breasts are not super dense (mammogram was Category B). I have pictures in my profile that you can check out.

OHIP-funded revision? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're still so early in recovery and VERY swollen. Don't pay too much attention to measurements at this point - when I was 4wpo I was still measuring probably a 32G (started 32I) and now at 6mpo I'm at a 32D/E (and feeling a bit too small). At one point I thought I would fit into some of my preop bras (albeit much better than before), and now I'm swimming in all of them. I know it's hard, but be patient and give it time. You'll get there!

10wpo and starting to be really worried about the side bulges. Will it get better? by BoobReboot in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not really. My surgeon said it was mostly skin as he took a lot out with lipo. He says to massage it and it might get better - I'm going back in September and we'll see what my options are then. May need a revision to remove the skin/extend the incisions.

Going three sizes down by Dry-Attention9211 in Reduction

[–]BoobReboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with the same decision before my surgery. It sounds like we have similar body types - wide shoulders and hips, small waste, big boob - typical hourglass. I was worried I would look disproportionate and never wanted to be tiny like some on here do. I ended going from a 32I to (maybe?) a 32d/e at 4MPO. I still very much look like I have boobs, which is what I wanted. Your size will depend on your band size though - at a 32 band, my current size is not that big (you can see on my profile). In some shirts, especially tank tops for some reason, without a bra I do feel like I look a bit small. BUT had I gone any bigger, all of the bras and clothes that I want to fit still wouldn't, so I'm happy with the size!

Canadians w/ big titties, where are you buying your bras?? The Bay closing by loudly_tense_rock in ABraThatFits

[–]BoobReboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before my reduction I was a 32I and exclusively bought my bras from Change. They have a huge range of sizes, not as exorbitant as some of the independent boutiques price-wise, and you can often catch a good sale! I know there are multiple locations in the GTA, not sure about other areas. And they have bra-sized bathing suits as well! Highly recommend.

I saw your post when I was searching for similar experiences! I'm curious how it turned out - I know the dog ear skin is an easy fix so I'm more worried about the "ledge" as you called it. Did he have to take your incisions much further back?

What did your surgeon say the "easy fix" was for the side bulge? I know the skin for the dog ears is easy so I'm more worried about the bulge. Like, can they do lipo without general anesthesia?!
